Date? Part 1 - Zach Herron

There will be two parts to this.

Summary: Zach is best friends with Lea's brother, Jonah. She secretly has a crush on him. Lea and Zach bump into each other at the library and start up a conversation. Zach asks her to accompany him to the town fair, Lea agrees. They go on a date and see if it goes well. (Part 2 will be the date)

Jonah and Lea were hanging in Jonah's room on his bed when Zach barged in. Zach's cheeks were redder than usual as he had ran up the stairs. "Guys!" Zach yelled at them from five feet away. "What?" Jonah asked back, wondering why he was being weird. "I got chased by a bee...." Zach said tiredly and collapsed on the floor, tired from being chased five blocks. "You ok dude?" Jonah asked as he helped Zach onto his bed. Zach tiredly nodded his head and fell asleep, his head resting on Lea's lap. Lea's cheeks became a light shade of pink.

She has had a crush on Zach for years but she knew she would never have a chance since Zach was Jonah's best friend. Jonah was very overprotective of Lea and never let any guy talk to her other than his best friend Zach and a select few of his other friends, Jack, Daniel, and Corbyn. He had others but he thought they were kind of players and kept them as far away from his sister as possible.

As Zach slept on Lea's lap, Jonah took out a few sharpie markers and started drawing on Zach's face and arms. Jonah handed Lea a marker and she started making Zach looks like a cat. Zach flipped over onto his other side and Lea drew the rest of the cat face she had started. Jonah and Lea both stopped as Zach started to wake up. Jonah quickly put the sharpies away and sat back down on his original spot on the bed so Zach wouldn't be suspicious. Zach opened his eyes sleepily and sat up in the bed. He got on his phone to check the time and panicked. "Crap! I gotta go!" he screamed and ran out the bedroom door. Jonah and Lea laughed because Zach didn't notice what they did to his face.

Lea walked into the library, and began looking for a book for her history project that was due on Monday. She went towards the history books section and began looking around. once she found a book she thought would be useful, she picked it up and began looking at it. She looked up from her book and noticed Zach a few feet away. She walled over to him, seeing that he was looking for a history book too. "Hey Zach, Lea said cheerfully, a light blush forming on her cheeks. Zach looked up from the book he was reading and smiled at her. "Hey Lea," Zach replied, "What are you doing here- if I don't know the reason already." Lea held up the book she was holding. "Just looking for a book for that dumb history project we have to do." Zach laughed, "It is pretty stupid. What are you doing the project on? I'm doing George Washington because I'm a basic white girl." Lea giggled," I'm doing it on Abraham Lincoln- like a normal person." "I am normal! Kinda..." Zach said jokingly, "too bad if I don't start my project today, I won't get to go to the fair tomorrow." "You're going?" Lea asked. She was sort of hoping she could go but she didn't have enough money. "Yeah. You should come with me. It'll be fun!" Zach said smiling. "Sure. I guess I could go," Lea said and smiled. "Great, I'll pick you up tomorrow at noon, ok?" Zach said and stood up. Lea nodded and they headed to the front to check out their books.
