When Everything Changes

Hi! I'm Alexia Allisyn! I'm one of the main teachers here at Garmadon's Academy for Unique Children. Lloyd Garmadon started this academy five years after graduating from college, the second time. He had to get his teaching degree before opening this wonderful place up and then getting all the funds took too long in my opinion. But I'm also impatient. Kinda runs in the family.

How do I know Lloyd Garmadon, The Green Ninja and Ultimate Spinjitzu Master, you ask? Well, I've known him since we were eleven. In fact, we've been best friends that long too. It all started in my hometown of Ignicia on one normal Autumn evening. Or so we thought...

I was in the room that I share with my sister as she and my brother were working. They have to get up much earlier than I do because they run Four Weapons, the blacksmith shop that our parents owned. Our parents who went missing before I was born. How does that work, you may ask? Well, when my sister was three, our parents disappeared, but then they had me almost three years later. Someone either kidnapped me or my parents left me because when I was four months old, my sibling's foster parents found me on the doorstep with a note letting them know my name, age, birthday, and who my parents were.

Our foster parents were nice, and then the accident happened. They were in a car crash a week after my brother's eighteenth birthday. Thankfully, my brother could be our legal guardian by then, but it still hurt. They were the only kind of parents I knew. It still hurts, even after close to two years, but I find other ways to grieve now. I have nightmares about it every once-in-a-while, but that's expected for someone who lost their foster parents and almost lost their ability to walk in an accident. The medicine did help some. I don't have daydreams about it or frequent nightmares anymore! And I haven't randomly broke down in tears in four months!

"To forge the perfect weapon, you first need the right metal, and plenty of heat, cool it off... and presto!" Kai -my brother- pulls out his curly-cue sword and groans. My giggle is cut short as I fall down the stairs, Nya -my sister- is still giggling as she makes her way over towards me.

"You made it too quickly, Kai! Be patient, if Father were still here he'd say-"

"I know. Not matter how much fire you have, experience isn't something you learn overnight." One of the few things they remember about dad. Kai told me a few of the stories they were told that he remembers. But it's not very much. "That may work for you, Nya, but I'm gonna be a better blacksmith than dad ever was!" I pass an old man with a really cool and long beard as I go to get more coal for the fire.

I hum to myself as I grab my sketch pad from the secret compartment in the big rock by our house. Nya made it for me so that I can put my diary and such in there. No one knows that I like to draw. And I like it that way. I don't want anyone to see what I draw or paint because I'm not very good yet. All I can draw is food and bowls right now. I'm working on a picture of Kai, but it looks funny. Definitely does not look like him, even though he himself looks weird.

I was just starting to work on his hair- the most challenging part of him- when a menacing purple cloud fills the sky. Nya runs out as I put my sketch book back and drags me inside. Kai tells us to stay back, but the second he's out of sight, Nya and I look at each other, and she grabs two staffs, handing one to me. We snuck out, just as the bodiless head bit Kai's foot, hitting two skeletons down.

"I thought I told you to stay back!" Kai says as he swings his sword a few times.

"And what?" Nya starts while all three of us are fighting off a group of skeletons.

"Let you have all the fun?" I sassily reply to his complaint. Kai and Nya were both too busy with the mob of skeletal people to notice the two sneaking into our home. I had to ignore them though as the one that looks like the boss comes into view. I quickly move towards Nya so that I didn't get caught fighting him. Kai foolishly tries to attack him. It turns out that I was smarter than I had thought as "Mr. Boss Guy" has four arms.

I lure a few skeletal people behind the rock that my diary and sketch book are to take them out. I stay hidden and grab both books, starting on my next project since I still can't get Kai's hair. I hear someone yell the words that changed our lives...

"Lord Garmadon says take the girl!"

Well, First chapter of the new beginning is done! I know it's short, but it is the first chapter. I went back to my fanfiction account and read through one of my stories and I got a few ideas for fun, non action, chapters. And if you want to, you can go over there and read them if you haven't already, but I will warn you that my grammar, spelling, and editing is not very good. My fanfiction account is under Beatitude Girl, but I don't really do anything on it anymore. I might bring a story or two over, but I'm not completely sure yet. We'll see once I'm either severely stuck or am actually done. Probably'll be the former, tbh. Well, let me know if this makes it easier to get into... please. I'd really like to know. Not sure how much I'm gonna change in the story overall, but I want to know what can help me get more reads and more comments. Welp, I guess I don't have anything else important other than me being happy that I have a much better chapter name! Bye my fwiens!
