I ignore the many paparazzi taking pictures as I'm waiting in the arrivals hall. My fingers clamp on to the sign that Vanessa helped making, slightly turning my knuckles white. I'm nervous. I've been nervous ever since the new article has been published.
A crap load of people enter the arrivals hall and I hold up the sign, high above my head. I giggle when I finally spot them in the crowd while my brother leaves his bags with Olivia and runs up to me. He wraps his arms around me and picks me up, shouting my name in my ear.
"Damn it, Freddie." I nuzzle my face in his neck, "You're embarrassing me."
"But that's why I'm here, Georgie." He almost shouts in my ear, "To embarrass you your whole life."
"Aren't you going to introduce me, Frederik?"
"Right."
He lets me go and turns towards Olivia who has probably been standing there for a while now.
"Georgia, this is my beautiful girlfriend, Olivia. Olivia, this is my asshole of a sister, Georgia."
She pulls me in a hug after I roll my eyes.
"Believe me." I say as I let go of her, "He's the asshole between the both of us."
"Now that is something I can get behind." Olivia laughs.
"Seriously?" Freddie sighs disappointed, "You guys are really going to gang up on me?"
"Yes." We say in unison, finishing with a giggling fit.
"Wow... This is going to be a very long weekend."
I wrap my arm around my brother's waist as he takes Olivia's hand in his. I lead them outside to Keneti's car that I could use. They get in the backseat as I start the engine, knowing that my brother will criticize every turn and break I'll make.
Olivia and Freddie are talking in the backseat, but I can only focus on the road and my endless thoughts. They look so happy together, not even caring of people are taking pictures of them in public. That's how a relationship should be, right?
I drive into the garage tower next to my apartment building and park in the first spot I see. We all get out before I lock the car, leading them to the fifth floor right to my apartment.
"How's KJ going to get his keys back?" Freddie voices as I open the door to my apartment.
"He's coming over after his scenes.-" A certain redhead perks up from my couch, "Or he's already here... How the hell did you get in here?"
"Used Cole's key." Keneti explains as he bro-hugs my brother.
"And why are you here?" I pull my eyebrows up while handing him his car keys.
"Day ended early for me. Cole and Lili still have some scenes to do, but other than that, everyone went home. Thought I hung out here til you got back."
"And who is he exactly?" Olivia's whisper came out a little too loud.
I turn to her smiling as she turns beet red.
"He and I became friends on my semester abroad. I now write for the same show he's acting on."
"Plus, he has a lot of embarrassing stories from when she was there." Freddie pipes up and Keneti's face brightens.
"Right." He grins, "Let me tell you about that one time-"
"Keneti!"
I glare at him as I cover his mouth with my hand. He just smiles onto my hand while he looks straight at me. Butterflies are trying to get out, but I don't let them. I take my hand off his mouth, remembering how close we're standing.
"So, what I was trying to say, this one time-" He continues as he lies down on my couch.
"Keneti!" I groan while my brother laughs at my despair.
"We were at the beach with Boston and some other friends until late and your sister had this great idea of going for a swim. And I think only Boston wanted to join you?" He looks at me, but I'm bewildered, "Anyway, our other friends came up with the idea of leaving them on the beach with nothing else but two sleeping bags. I mean, we didn't really leave them, but I still have some pictures of their faces when they came to shore."
My brother laughs at the end of the story, but I can only think of that day. He could've chosen so many embarrassing moments, but he chose that story to tell.
"We're going to lie down for an hour or something." Olivia breaks the silence, "Flying makes me really drowsy."
"And I just wanna join her." Freddie grins.
I scrunch my nose as I point to the guestroom. They leave the living room and I turn to Keneti. He grins as he pats a free spot next to his upper body. I roll my eyes, giving in on the gesture. He wraps his arms around my waist.
"Why did you tell him that story?" I ask.
"Because the only other embarrassing stories I remembered about you," He whispers as he kisses my shoulder, "Are not really the ones I want to tell your brother."
"Keneti..." I wriggle out his arms, "Not now."
"But... Why, George?"
"Because my brother will kill you if he ever finds out."
He tries to wrap his arms around me again, but I keep them away.
"C'mon. He'll never find out."
"No, Keneti." I stand up, "No means no. And that's it."
"Oh, c'mon."
He's in front of me now. His hands rest on my shoulders for a second, but it's too easy to shrug them off.
"I hate you, Keneti." I look away.
"Nah..." He whispers as he wraps his arms around me, "You love me."
My heart stops, as does my body from moving. Everything freezes around my until Keneti places a gentle kiss under my ear. It immediately brings me back to reality, as it reminds me what my whole point was.
I pull his arms off of me and push at least a metre away from him. Soft tears form in my eyes as I turn to Keneti. His hand travels to his hair; he's clearly frustrated.
"Did I say something wrong?" He inquires.
"The fact that you have to ask, tells a lot." I sigh as I open the door, "Tell my brother that I'm at the studios."
I close the door behind me, leaving a piece of my heart in there with him.
