The pain I've experienced will never go away. The emotional pain, not physical. Although, sometimes it hurt so bad it felt physical. My heart will never heal from losing Zion. My heart and mind will never forget my screams as they wheeled him into the ambulance. I had to be escorted away from the scene, I couldn't be stopped. I didn't believe it, I didn't want to.
"Tj, just eat please." Austin groaned, gesturing to the food in front of me. It's been months without Zion and it's been months since I've eaten a full meal. I couldn't stand to eat.
"Austin, I don't want to. It hurts too bad." I spoke, tears falling from my face. Austin sighed and wiped my tears.
"I know you miss him. We all do" he sighed again, sitting down across from me.
"I miss him but what hurts the most is my broken heart." I raised my voice slightly, earning a sympathetic look from Austin.
"I know. I know Zion misses you up there-" he gestured upwards "-but I'm sure he would want you to be happy right now. He loves you so much. You guys went through so much together, he misses you" Austin said, holding my hand from across the table as tears fell down his face slowly.
I slowly picked up my fork and took a bite of the pasta sitting in the bowl. I slowly began eating, attempting to forget about Zion.
"Thank you, Austin. I appreciate you cooking for me" I said. I gave him a smile, which was obviously forced. He nodded his head at me.
I watched as the guys sat on the couch, having conversations of their own. None of us really talked to each other for the first few weeks, but the guys are starting to be themselves again. There's still a small piece that's missing from everyone.
Austin went and sat down with the rest of guys and turned on a movie. I placed my bowl in the sink, proud that I actually ate something. Nick came into the kitchen, smiling at me.
"Tj, can I take you out? Not like a date-" he paused "-I want to make you feel better. I've waited 4 months since...you know...to ask you this. I want to take your mind off of things." He spoke, continuing to smile at me.
"I don't know..." I trailed off. I wasn't sure if I was ready for this. Was I? He said not like a date...
"Please. I just want to take your mind off of things" nick repeated as he placed his hands on my waist.
I slightly tensed as I felt that kind of affection. It's been a while. Besides hugs from the guys I have been avoiding any affection. "Okay." I huffed.
Nick's grin got bigger. "Okay." He repeated my words.
"This isn't The Fault In Our Stars" I laughed. Nick laughed with me.
"Be ready around 7" he winked at me before turning on his heels and walking out.
Later
I put on a pair of high waisted jeans with a black cropped hoodie. I added a few pieces of jewelry, finishing my look off. I slipped on my pair of furry checkered vans, my favorite shoes.
I went down the stairs, making sure I had my wallet and phone on me. I sat on the couch, waiting for Nick. I chuckled remembering how Zion was always ready before me. Nick came down the stairs. He was wearing a pair of jeans with a yellow hoodie and white Air Force 1's.
"Ready to go?" He grinned at me, reaching his hand out to help me off the couch.
"WE'RE LEAVING!" Nick yelled up the stairs to no one in particular. We received mixed responses from the guys. "Don't hurt my sister!" Austin yelled from the kitchen. "I could never!" Nick responded back to Austin, adding a wink towards me. Nick opened the door for me as a smile crept onto my face.
