Third Person POV

The fact that the location was unknown didn't make the area any less dangerous. It was not because there was a high crime rate because the city was relatively peaceful. Nor was it the fact that supernatural forces were at work for those did not exist--at least not to them. What made the district so life threatening was the presence of two certain people who were taking rest in one of the many rooms in the now empty mansion.

"How boring" one exclaimed. "They didn't even put up a fight. Especially that 'demon butler', so much for a fun night." Skipping over a maid's corpse from the kitchen, the masked assassin poured some freshly brewed tea for their companion, "What did you expect. All that man could do was hire assassins to do his dirty work and then steal the victim's fortune." Taking a sip of the olong from his fine china cup, the Reaper made himself comfortable on the expensive white-now red, leather couch. "Though installing a kitchen inside his own bedroom is quite...Extra" Blade acknowledged as the assassin relaxed in an identical chair across their partner.

"So, did they enjoy my little present in Okinawa. I made sure to mess up that Takaoka guy real good before setting him loose." Despite the sadistic words, the voice speaking was nothing less than cheerful. Taking a nibble from one of the many tea biscuits arranged on the coffee table between them, the hitman retorted, "I would have done more. He was obviously unstable so going the extra step would have been more entertaining. But also..." Returning the mask back to its rightful place (which they had put down for the sake of eating sweets), in a swift motion they landed a light cut on their partner's neck with a glass shard from the bloody mess in the room. It would've been deeper if not for the target leaning their head back a little bit.

There was no surprise, no hatred, just pure enjoyment. Smiling like an innocent child the Reaper confessed, "Now I might have said a word or two about 'little sister's' weaknesses but she was able to handle herself so no harm done, rig--" Before he could even finish his sentence, Blade threw his cloak. It covered the hit-man's view thereby succeeding in disguising the assassin's true motive. Dashing behind their target, they jumped onto the couch to accelerate their height. Taking out a hidden dagger from their sleeve, they prepared for a front strike to the head. Foreseeing this, the Reaper spun on the ball of his foot to face his threat. Rising his arm, he was able to grab hold of the enemy and pull them into his ready fist. Feeling the clenched hand make contact with their stomach, a nauseating feeling bubbled up to their throat. Biting their lip so no cough or yelp escaped their mouth, they smiled, seeing as it was their win.

Right before the fist made impact, there was a millisecond opening where it would be the perfect opportunity to take the knife in hand and stab it in the Reaper's shoulder. And that's exactly what the assassin did.

After the exchange, there was no movement, no sound, nothing. It was so silent you could drop a pin and it would be as loud as a victim screaming for mercy. Especially for the two who were fighting, after all, they do have enhanced senses.

"You poisoned the tea-", started the Reaper.

"You poisoned the cookies-", continued Blade.

"Only because you were gonna attack me- "

"Because you caused way too much trouble for me in Okinawa- "

"That's cause you were paying more attention to those kids instead of me!"

Sighing at their partner's usual childish selfishness, they ended up apologizing. "Fine, I'm sorry I've been ignoring you for so long... Now let me down." The Reaper smiled happily at this and dropped their partner down roughly on their original seat as he too sat where he previously was. Because of the poison they both ingested, movement was not something they could accomplish-without too much hassle that is. "You're always so childish. We go on missions regularly and you message me about meaningless things a little too often" Blade lectured. Frowning at another hour-long speech, the Reaper countered, "But-" His partner made sure to cut him off before he had the chance to speak, "But nothing! You were being immature and I expect a proper apology to those children in the near future!"
