"I'm not 100% sure. But I think the whole IRIS was fake." Annabeth waves her hand around.
"Wait, hold up, it couldn't been a fraud call, Amy and Leo and Miggy were in it," I say, my brain over loading with questions.
"Those must've been shapeshifters too, or a trick of the Mist." Annabeth's face turns thoughtful.
Seriously, who the hell does these screwed up things?
"Perce, bro, I'm sorry about that. I have no beef with you." Miggy gives me an apologetic smile.
I start to crack up because the whole damn situation is messed up and Miggy said beef.
"Seaweed Brain, give me a kiss." Annabeth demands me. I hesitate, Nessie's right by me, watching every move I make. Like that creepy monkey in Toy Story 3.
Annabeth shakes her head and runs away from me. It's because I hesitated. I never have before.
Kissing Annabeth was second nature to me. It was normal and magical. Why now does it seem like nothing? Like a part of the past that should stay in the past?
Melli slaps my arm. Melli. Damn it I forgot her.
"I'm good." I tell her and she gives me a 'Oh really?' look.
"Seriously, I'm fine." Then I remember something. "Your a half blood, Melli."
"Nah, bro, let's ignore that detail and worry about the shapeshifter." Melli smiles so tightly, her lips almost disappear.
"Where's Leo? Is he with Calpyso?" I ask Miggy.
"Leo's on a quest." He informs me.
"Of course. Valdez needs a chance in the spotlight."
