Keith knocked on the white door, biting his lip in hope that they'll answer.
Sentry opened the door, looking confused. Keith smiled, seeing that they haven't changed. They still had their short, strawberry blonde hair and wide glasses. They haven't even changed their style of flannels, T-shirt's, and jeans. They caught Keith's eye because of their resemblance to Pidge.
"Why the hell are you knocking on my fucking door at three in the morning?" Sentry grumbled. Keith raised an eyebrow, "Why are you up and fully dressed at three in the morning?" He asked.
Sentry narrowed their eyes and pressed their lips together in a thin line. "Touchè" They mumbled. They glared at Keith, "What do you want anyways?" Sentry asked.
Keith looked away, annoyed at himself for having to come to this. "I know you have housemates but I need a place to stay." He admitted. "How long?" Sentch questioned. "At the most, a week."
Sentch looked back for a moment before turning towards Keith. "Whatever. You can crash in Maddies room. She has an extra bed." They moved to let Keith inside. "Won't she be weirded out by a guy sleeping in her room?" He asked. Shrugging, Sentch answered. "She has a potential girlfriend and you're a gay boi. She'll be fine."
Keith nodded and walked inside, a small bag in tow, questioning whether he should be offended or not.
"TYLER!" Someone yelled. A girl with long, wavy red hair ran into the hall. "Why didn't you eat-" She stopped as she noticed Keith. "Oh." She said simply.
"Is this Maddie?" Keith asked Sentry. Sentch rolled her eyes and walked over to the girl. She was now staring. "This is Momma Ken. Or, Kendra. She's the mom of our house."
The girl- now known as Kendra- shook her head and put her hand on Sentry's' mouth. "I'm sorry, I'm Kendra. Tyler, here, was just about to get yelled at. Welcome to our house." She smiled and shook my hand with her free one. Sentch stood there, giving Kendra a bitch face. She slapped Kendra's hand, "Get your dirtyass hand off of my mouth." They snapped. Kendra rolled her eyes
"Who's Tyler?" Keith asked. Kendra look at Keith, then Sentch. "Are Maddie and I the only ones whom you force to call you that?" She asked. Sentry shrugged. "I met Keith before I went by that nickname."
"So you're the infamous Emo?" A voice asked. I whipped around. A small girl with long, reddish-brown hair was standing behind me. She had a blue tank top on with the moon and stars on it. She had black tights, vans and a grey jacket around her waist. "Keith meet Maddie, the most gorgeous anime weeaboo you'll ever meet." Sentry mumbled.
Maddie glared at Sentry. "Oh, shut up," She crossed her arms, "thanks, but I'm not gorgeous-" Keith cut her off, "Actually, y'all are all really attractive." He said plainly. Maddie stared at him, Kendra blushed and excused herself to the kitchen, and Sentry raised an eyebrow, turned, then walked away.
Maddie snorted. "Y'all. You're from the south or something, aren't you?" She asked. Keith gave her a confused look. "Texas." He replied. Maddie smirked. "You wouldn't guess by accent." She admitted. "Where else have you lived?" She asked. Keith shrugged, "I went to the Garrison for a while, then I was in Space for about two years." Maddie didn't say anything, only responding with a nod.
"Come on, I'll show you our room." Keith nodded and followed the small girl. He noticed the pictures on the walls. Most of them were of the girls, but some looked a if they were drawn. "Who made those?" He asked. "I did. I'm trying to a masters degree in Art. Kendra is getting one in psychology. She also does online art." She said. Keith noticed that her attitude seemed to turn sullen. She pushed open a door with post-it notes plastered all over it. A couple had actual notes on them, but the majority had small but detailed drawings on them.
One caught my eye. It had a small amount of color on it. The handwriting was bad, but at the bottom I could read the sign. Love you, Aubrey. I raised an eyebrow and walked into the room. Maddie was laying in a bed, on her phone. The side of the room she was on was grey, blue, and silver. It had a Paris theme.
Without looking up, she pointed to the bed across the room. It had black covers, a purple pillow, and a purple unicorn stuffed animal. The walls had a couple of posters on them, and there were flower stickers scattered around. "Who slept here?" Keith asked. "An old friend. She moved last year." She replied plainly. "Who's Aubrey?" I asked again. Maddie looked up from her phone. "Where'd you get that name from?" She asked. Keith pointed at the door. "A post-it note was signed by them." He answered. Maddie nodded and sat up.
"She's the one who stayed where you're sleeping. We were really good friends in 8th grade. She moved to Cuba last year. She has a friend there who needed a lot of help." She explained. "What was wrong with her friend?" He asked. Maddie sighed, moving her hair behind her ear and folding her legs. "He came home from a really long time away. He was overwhelmed by his family. Not to mention he was heart broken. One of his friends left them without saying goodbye. Aubs texted me later and told me he admitted to having feelings for him."
Keith and Maddie sat in silence for a moment. Keith set his bag on the bed. "What was his name?" He asked. Maddie laughed. "You ask a lot of questions." She pointed out. Keith crossed his arms. "So?" He asked. Maddie laughed again. "He was right, you are Emo."
Keith almost asked who "he" was but he stopped himself. He's already asked a lot of questions. Silence hung in the air for couple moments. "So," Maddie started, "you're gay." Keith almost spat. "What?" He asked. "You're gay, right?" Maddie asked. Keith swallowed nervously, and nodded. Maddie smiled and laid back down. "My ship shall sail now!" She proclaimed. Her back was arched and her hand was in the air, pointing at the ceiling.
Keith gave her a confused look, sitting on his bed. "Don't you need water for that?" He asked. Maddie gave him a look of disbelief. "You know, relationship? The relationship will happen. So the ship will sail."
Keith thought about that for a moment. "That's stupid." He announced. Maddie threw a random piece of paper at him and turned away. "Turn off the light and go to bed. I can't handle your bullshit anymore." Keith gave a small smile and grabbed his pajamas to change into. He turned off the light and headed to the bathroom he noticed down the hall.
