After Levi kissed me I really didn't know what to do. My heart was racing and we were in the middle of a forest across from the school, not your typical, everyday situation. I wasn't sure if Levi was okay and I was freezing so I hugged him on the log and buried my head in his shoulder, shivering.
"Levi, I'm freezing," I said looking up at him.
"I know, I am, too," He responded, "C'mon, let's go." He took my hand.
"Uh Levi.."
"Yeah?" He responded, looking at me. His eyes were still slightly bloodshot, but only barely.
"Well, I don't really want to have a boyfriend right now," I was really hesitant when I told him, only because I wasn't sure of his response.
"Oh, that's fine, because I really don't want a girlfriend either." I was really confused at that point.
"But then why'd you kiss me?"
"Because I like you and you're some one I really care about. I think it was important that we both experienced our first kiss with people we care about," he told me. I needed to think about that for a minute before I responded.
I smiled at him, "I think that's perfect because I care about you, too," I wasn't sure if I liked him or not, but I was pretty sure I had some sort of attraction to him.
"Levi...I'm glad that you...that you kissed me,"
"Well, I like you and I have a sneaking suspicion that you do too," Levi was so straightforward, I loved it.
"We're still friends, right?" I asked him.
He held up our intertwined hands, "Why wouldn't we be?" he says jokingly. Levi is definitely back to normal.
"Shit! What time is it?!" He yelled.
"Relax, Mr. Palumbo will totally understand," I told him. I only assumed Mr. Palumbo knew what was up with Levi...whoops.
"Yeah, I hope so..."
We were silent for about 30 seconds before I broke it.
"Are you gonna be okay?" I asked him.
"Yeah, of course. You being there really helped, though."
"Are we gonna talk about what happened back there?" I knew it was probably awkward, but I needed to know.
"Well yeah, but I don't think we should make it public, just because it'll be a big mess."
I'm not sure why, but I was kind of disappointed when he said that, but I knew he was completely right.
"Totally, I agree," I told him.
I didn't think I should say anything else, so I didn't. We just kept walking back to school, hand in hand, not knowing how what just happened would change our lives.
"I'm fricking cold...sorry I dragged you out here, by the way," Levi told me.
"It's been my pleasure."
"But seriously...I do like you, Ellie. I don't wanna make a speech about it, I like you and that's that. Okay?"
"Okay."
We had reached school so we walked in with both of our hands by our sides. I was still wearing his hoodie.
