Kellin was terrified of sleeping now.
Every time he'd fallen asleep, he'd had terrible, terrible and very gory dreams.

Sometimes of strange supernatural creatures, cannibals, or shadowy figures killing ruthlessly...

This translated into him not sleeping at all. He was too scared. He couldn't cope with seeing his beloved boyfriend die in every single dream he had. It was too disturbing.

Of course, his said boyfriend didn't know about that. Kellin didn't want Vic worrying about him. So every night, he pretended to go to sleep with Vic.
He had to catch on soon though - there was no way he was missing Kellin's under-eye bags and extreme coffee-consumption any longer.

How long would he be able to keep this up? Wasn't there a horror movie about this? That something happened if you fell asleep...?

Kellin wasn't sure, his thoughts drifting off to how nice it would be if he could just take a nap right now.
Just get into bed, cuddle up with Vic like he always used to...

And before he knew it - He was fast asleep.

---

Kellin sat on a bed. This... Was a room.
A normal room. A dresser, a desk, a window. It seemed to be dark out.

Somehow, the young boy knew to get up. He felt almost at home in here. It was warm.
He stepped towards the window, seeing a bunch of snow. He was liking this. But something was missing...

Kellin went to the door, leaving the room behind him. He was on the first floor of a spacious house or cabin out of wood. There were candles everywhere and homely decorations.

He walked down the wooden stairs into the open lounge/kitchen area.

"Kellin!"

Kellin jumped. Where had that voice come from?
It had sounded so familiar...
The dark-haired boy started walking faster, frantically trying to figure out who had called for him.

"Kellin!"

He saw a wooden door - it was closed. Kellin was almost sure that that was where the voice had come from.

He put his hand on the knob, and heat immediately seared through the skin of his palm. He ripped his hand away with a gasp.
Now he was noticing the orange glow that was shining through the small space between door and floor.
It smelled like... Food.

Or to make it sound weird - like burning flesh.

"Kellin, help me!"

Something clicked in Kellin's mind then. Vic was in trouble.
He kicked down the door with all the strength he could muster, ignoring the pain in his hand and finding that it was surprisingly easy.

He coughed. Smoke engulfed him, he squinted at the bright light.
"Vic!", he screamed.
There was no answer and Kellin was starting to panic.

What if... What if... No! He was about to take off his shirt and just run straight through the flames, when he found himself rooted to the spot.

He tried with all his might to take a step, but he couldn't.
He opened his mouth, screamed at the top of his lungs but it made no sound.

He didn't understand! He continued, trying everything he could. Tears were streaming down his face at this point.
The fire was coming closer and closer.

The door he'd kicked down was already engulfed in flames.

Suddenly, he could run again. But only in the wrong direction.
He ran, as fast as he could to the front door and outside. It was like he knew the house as if he'd grown up here.

He stood in the snow, panting.

Vic.

He stomped through the thick, cold substance, losing feeling in his feet. He saw that orange glow again - this time from the outside. He picked up a stone and threw it at the window - it shattered.

"Vic!", he screamed again.

No answer, but the flames suddenly parted, showing Kellin's beloved boyfriend.
He was hanging from the ceiling by a rope tied around his neck.

Kellin screamed.
He saw Vic's hands - they were purple. His fingertips were bloody, his nails broken. He saw his burned face and his empty eyes. His hair was hanging into them.
Kellin stepped toward the window, but as soon as he did, the flames were back.

Kellin screamed and cried until he couldn't anymore, until his throat hurt too much and his voice was gone. Then he ran, ran as fast as he could down the path and into the woods.

He needed help immediately. Why was there nothing around here?!
After a few minutes he had to slow down because he was so out of breath. He heard something behind him.

Footsteps?

"Hello?"
"Is there anybody there?", he yelled, "I need help, please!"

He got no answer.
He was going insane. He was definitely going insane.
And then he started crying again thinking of Vic. He just wanted to be back home with Vic.

He had barely taken another few steps when he heard the snow crunch behind him. Those were definitely footsteps.

Kellin saw them in the snow but couldn't see anyone making them.
He let out a deafening scream and began running again.
He'd probably never run faster in my life - Kellin heard the footsteps following me.

It felt like forever until he came to a halt at the edge of a cliff.

This was it.

The boy felt a sharp pain on his shoulder and stumbled forward, just barely holding on to a tree root to prevent himself from falling.

Then everything went black.
