Chapter 13

Tris P.O.V

I wake up in the morning with Four's arms wrapped around my waist. I slowly pull away, trying not to wake him. Then I tip-toe downstairs because I'm pretty sure that everyone is still asleep.

I just can't stop thinking about what happened last night. I have so many questions running through my head right now. Like, why did he kiss me? Why would he even want to kiss me in the first place? Or, why did he look hurt when I didn't kiss him back. Ugh! Guys are so complicated.

I go down to the game room and lay down on the couch. All of this is just so overwhelming. "Tris?" someone asks from the door. I look up and see Zeke. "Hey Zeke." I say. He comes over and sits down next to me.

"Zeke, what happened last night?" I ask.

"I know you're gonna want an apology," he says. "But I'm not going to apologize for something I've wanted to do ever since the first day I met you." After he says that, I sit there in shock. I'm about to speak before he closes the space between us.

I will admit though, he is a pretty good kisser. Without thinking I kiss him back. He tries to deepen it but I pull away.

"No," I say looking down. "Stop. We are both in a relationship right now and this is wrong. Isn't you having Shauna enough?"

"I've always wanted to be with you though. Last night we were fighting and...we're taking a brake." he says.

"Yeah but that doesn't change anything. I'm still dating Four. You can't just come up to me, out of nowhere and kiss me like that."

"I'm sorry. I don't know what I was thinking. Just pretend it never even happened. In fact, pretend we were never even friends. You obviously deserve someone better than me."

"Zeke, don't say that." I say grabbing his hands. "I love you, I really do but I'm with Four right now. I don't want this to affect our relationship."

He nods and we hug it out. I'm so glad that we will now have a normal friendship. "I can't believe you!!" shouts someone from behind us. Shit, we're screwed.
