It was just any ordinary day at Overland High. Cheerleaders shouting chants at the top of their voices as they cartwheeled across the field and threw eachother into the air. Popular girls glaring at every girl that walked past, critizing everythin from hair style to shoe colour. Druggies at the abandoned tennis court smoking. Nerds talking about their latest grades and their results at the spelling bee. Everything abnormally normal.

She came in like a dark cloud, Her wavy dark brown hair floating around her fragile shoulders as she stepped into the school grounds. She wore an indigo fishnet top over a black singlet. Her skinny jeans were jet black and her doc martin's laces were left untied. Her face was as pale as a ghost's. Around her neck was a silver necklace. She looked down at her muddy shoes, her arms clutching a Scarlett messenger bag. She was so different to any girl I had ever seen. When she looked up from her shoes I saw her face properly. Full lips with no ghastly makeup, pale cheeks and the most haunting of all, emerald green eyes that seemed to glitter in the early morning sun.

I was the only one that noticed her at first. Everyone else continued what they were doing. To me she was like one big question mark. Who was she? Was she new to the school? I had never seen her around town before, and I knew everyone at in the ghastly town of Overland. I am one of those people who were born, raised and will probably die in the same town. There is no way of escaping Overland. It's like a huge prison cell, but with open doors that no one dare escape from. But what I didn't know was that this girl was going to change it all.
