I stood up from my table and began to weave my way through the crowds towards where Cynthia had run off to. "Where are you going Jake?!" Yelled Tristan from back at the table. I continued to plow my way through the cafeteria and towards the door, ignoring his remark of surprise.

I was almost out, but to get out I had walk past the pyrites table. Ashleigh sat at the top of the table, with her new boy toy Zach Elsermy, head of the basketball team, practically attached to her.

On her left was her best friend/devil accessory Harley Richardson. Her long locks were currently died a shade of bubblegum pink. She chewed gum as she looked at me with disapproval, her blue eyes and her thin eyebrows narrowed. She was a vulture before she became a pyrite, she knew how to insult.

"Hey You, vampire hunter" snarled Harley, drumming her long magenta nails against the plastic top of the lunch table "leave vampire girl alone, she might bite you!". She smiled evilly, and I could almost see the devil horns beneath her hair. "Shut up harl" said Ashleigh, exasperated. Harley quickly shut her mouth. Even she dare not go against the Judges will. "So" continued Ashleigh as she flicked her perfect locks away from her soft rosy face "You want to follow vampire girl" she said examining her nails carelessly as she spoke, her ripe glossed lips twisted into a demonic smirk. "That's not a very good idea" she says, looking up from her nail and into my eyes, almost as if she was looking into my very soul. Her eyes were so icy and piercing that I almost ran away back to my table, but I stood my ground."why not?" I say, trying to sound nonchalant. "Because if she bites you, you'll be a vampire too, and we wouldn't want that would we?" She says sweetly, pouting her bottom lip. "I won't" I promise. "Good" she smiles. "Oh and tell her that when she comes to senses about her hair colour to go to Overland saloon and ask for Fredriko. " she laughed tauntingly. Zach laughed loyally next to her and Harley cackled like a witch next to her, her head tossed back, her white teeth flashing in the sunlight.

I take this as my dismissal and quickly walk off towards the large doors out of the cafeteria and onto the field. My eyes scan the field for Cynthia Rose. I can still hear the pyrites laughing behind me in the lunch room. I close my eyes and sigh loudly.

 And then I hear it
