The boy was cute, she had to admit. His warm brown eyes, golden brown hair and tan skin was so different to her green eyes, dark brown hair and pale complexion, but he still appealed to her.
But it could never be.
Despite his good looks, jokes and kind nature, Jake, that was his name, would never want her.
And she could not want him.
She knew that he had seen the vision that she had seen of the holy circle when their hands had touched. And the tingling sensation that crept up her arm into her heart... Was that part of the vision or was that just foolishness, wishful thinking. And she didn't know how much of her journal he had read over her shoulder. If he read to much it would be bad. Very bad.
Mother always said to never tell anyone. Once she had told a little girl, her best friend at the time, when She was 5 and the girl ran away crying. Mother immediately moved to the other side of the country.
From her first day at this new school she could tell that it was going to be exactly like every other school she had ever been to. She would always be the outcast, the nobody, the weird one. She hadn't had a single friend since that girl in preschool, she hasn't dared risk another person running away from her in tears.
And what happened today when it got out of control and she let her emotions overtake her... That could not happen again.
So she told herself to stop thinking about Jake.
But she couldn't.
