Prologue
There once were four thriving kingdoms in the country of Red Rose. The first was the Kingdom of Saints. Everyone there was very spiritual. Their world revolved around the church, which part of their castle had become. King Shaya was always nice, understanding, and nonviolent. He was tall and thin with soft brown short hair. The second was the Kingdom of Champions. This kingdom was full of fighters. They knew all about military and being the strongest. King Clovis was self-confident, ambitious and was known for having a short temper. He was a tall, muscular man with wavy black hair. The third was the Kingdom of Scholars. Their world revolved around knowledge and learning new things. King Fahim was smart, kind and quiet. He was medium height, skinny and pale with hair so blonde it was almost white. The last was the Kingdom of Laborers. They were hard workers, working in fields and making the clothes and everything people needed. King Chilton was a hardworking, strong and independent man. He was tall and muscular with tan skin and dark hair. All these kingdoms got along wonderfully, always helping the other kingdoms.
There was another hidden kingdom far away from the other kingdoms. Long since forgotten by everyone else. This was the Kingdom of Mischief. This kingdom was a city of thieves and bad people. King Diomedes was a cruel, dominant, and dark man. He was pale, with dark greasy hair hanging to his shoulders. He was the only man in the kingdom that looked like he ate anything. The rest of his kingdom was in poverty. Many dying each day. It was a bad place to live.
The Kingdoms of Red Rose lived in peace until one-day King Diomedes decided he was done being forgotten. He planned to start a war against the other kingdoms. He was going to make them remember the Kingdom of Mischief.
Kingdom of Laborers
Eva Ashling wakes up before the sun every morning. "Come along dear! breakfast is getting cold" her mother hollers from the kitchen. Eva climbs out of her straw bed, running a hand through her wavy, red hair. She pulls on her work clothes, dusty trousers and dusty button-down shirt. She ties her hair in a ponytail using a ribbon before going to the kitchen. Her worn out mother was at the tub washing dishes "Morning Eva." "Good morning Mother" Eva says as she kisses her mother's cheek. Eva sits down at the small table. Before her was a plate with burnt bread and an apple. She forces down the bread. "What are you doing Eva? Today's the last day of the month" her mother says as she places the dishes on the counter. Eva looks at her mother "What? Is it really Mother?" Her mother chuckles softly "Yes dear it's time to sell goods with your father." Eva races back to her room and quickly changes to her nice clothes. She returns to the kitchen wearing a clean shirt and skirt with boots "How do I look Mother?" Her mother smiles at her daughter "Lovely dear. Now hurry along Papa is waiting." Eva kisses her mother's cheek and hurries out of the small house.
Eva's father was loading the wagon with barrels of vegetables and fruits. "Good morning dear! Running late I see" he chuckles as he loads the last barrel on to the wagon. "Sorry Papa I forgot what day it was" Eva says hugging her father. "Eva don't forget your sweater" Eva's mother calls as she runs towards them. Eva takes the wool sweater her mother hands her "Thank you Mother." "Be safe" she whispers kissing Eva's forehead. Eva's father hugs and kisses his wife "Be back tonight love." A tear drops down Eva's mother's cheek "Love you both be careful." Eva's father nods as he climbs into the wagon. Eva was sitting on the bench seat with her sweater over her lap "Good bye Mother!" Her father waves goodbye as he picks up the reins. Her father gets the wagon moving as Eva turns around waving goodbye to her mother. The kingdom of Laborers was full of fields and farms. There was dirt and dust covering everything. The houses were covered in dirt and mud. They were made from hay and wood. The only green was in the lush fields. On the far side of the kingdom were the factories where father's and mothers worked all day or all night. Thick smoke billowed from the smoke stacks all day. Eva was happy she did not go to that side of the kingdom often.
