Chapter 5

"You belong to me and only me Ali." he hisses "When will you get that? I guess I'll jut have to beat it into your stupid little head?"

"Zach please, I understand. Your party starts soon." I beg trying to avoid a beating.

"You're right." he says but he still doesn't let me go. "We'll finish this later, love".

He kisses my ear and finally releases me before walking back towards the locker room.

"Ew, can't you keep your hormones under control for a minute." Ash says with obvious disdain. "The game only ended 10 minutes ago, neanderthal. You'd think that ass whooping you just got would have killed your boner but if sweaty guys is what turns you on, to each his own I guess." she taunts.

I almost giggled but after catching the livid glare Zach was throwing me, I decide against it.Why is he mad at me. She said it.

Zach huffs and stomps away like a little girl.

I look at Ash and give her a halfhearted look of disapproval. She just shrugs and continues to my car.

"So..." she drawls out once we've entered the car.

"So... what?" I inquire.

"Chace is pretty hot" she states bluntly for the second time.

"So you've said" I reply curtly.

Ali grins and looks at me from the corner of her eye.

"Understood." she says leaving me confused.

"Ash what are you going on about now?" I ask her

"Chace is off limits. I totally understand Al." she says leaving me even more confused than before.

"I mean, its pretty obvious you like him, and with good reason, he seems pretty cool and he's hot. He's not really my type though." Ash finishes.

"I do not like Chace. What on earth would make you think that" I say not so confidently.

Ash looks at me triumphantly. "Your face says it all"

The rest of the ride to the party is silent besides the pop music playing lowly throughout the car.

I use this time to contemplate Ashleigh's words. Sure Chace is a good guy. Besides his annoying tendencies and overbearing arrogance. And he is no doubt the most handsome guy I have ever seen. None of that matters though, he's out of my league and I'm with Zach.

I let these thoughts leave my mind as we arrive at Zach's huge mansion. I'll
never understand why rich people need so much space. Zach only has one sibling, an older brother named Josh. They aren't really close at all and barely even speak to one another at holidays.

We step out of the car and enter the party. On the way to the front door we see couples making out and teens scattered around some already drunk despite the party starting only a half hour ago.

Zach's car isn't around which means he hasn't arrived to his party yet.At least I have a few minutes to relax before my impending doom of serving drinks and making meaningless small talk with random people Zach shove my way.

As I'm going to prepare a drink for myself, Chace approaches me and Ash.

"Ladies" he greets us "You look nice Ali".
"You just saw me" I counter ignoring the way my heart leaped at his small compliment.

"I know. I didn't get a chance to tell you." he replies.

"I'm gonna go find Cam" Ash says grinning deviously.
