Noise and chatters engulfed me like a wave as soon as i entered the cafeteria. Students of all years have gathered along the neatly lined table as they talked and laughed with their group of friends.
The cafeteria was breathtaking needless to say, glasses were placed instead of concrete as walls, from the ceiling to the floor it overlooked the wonderful forest situated beside the school. A small lake was located at the middle where the sun shine brightly.
Roaming my eyes, I noticed a familiar figure in the middle of the room, laughing wholeheartedly with his group of friends.
Before he noticed me, I rolled down my sleeve and untangled my blazer from my waist. I wore it properly like I should have but chose not to but here I am. Trying to look good in front of the boy she likes.
"Chelsea, the lines here!" Anna shouted putting her hand up in the air. I straightened my blazer once more before going up to her. She and Amber made a space in the middle for me and handed me a tray.
I grinned from ear to ear as I saw the wide array of choices in front of me. I can choose anything from meat, vegetables, and desserts and mother wouldn't be here to scold me. I guess there's one more thing I can be happy about despite all the trouble I go through.
After picking out my choices, sighing as I remembered that people are still looking at me so I should probably act and eat decent. I walked dejectedly towards the table in the corner of the room that Amber had reserved for us.
There's that annoying thing that you don't get to eat a lot of food because you don't have it and other when you have all you want displayed in front of you and all you have to do is to lift you arms up and scoop it but you can't. Because you have to act like you're the perfect lady and a perfect lady don't shove random unhealthy foods up their mouth.Placing my tray on the table, I sat down and silently eat my lunch.
"Chelsea, do you wanna hang out with us later on our room?" Anna asked.
"M'lady, don't tell me your plannin' to stay out late again tonight?" Amber questioned before bringing up her fork that carried a little piece of cake into her mouth. Dang that looks delicious.
Anna scoffed as she flicked down her wrist and giggled as if Amber's questions was the most ridiculous thing she have heard, "Of course not."
"I'm sorry but I'm not really feeling well right now, maybe some other time?" I lied, honestly though? I would love to but the time after school is my alone time, think of it like a break on your work. It's like the time where you just sit there and recharge before you go about and deal with people and as much as i would like to spend some time with then and get to know them a little bit more, I don't think that today will be the right time to let them in inside my imaginary shell.
"Ohh, it's okay," Anna said smiling, "Some other time?"
I nodded reciprocating the smile, "Definitely."
We fell into a comfortable silence for a few seconds before finally asking the question that I have always wondered. "Oh yeah, your accent... Both of you are from North right?"
Both of them froze and looked to each other. Anna visibly gulped, "Our accent was that obvious...?" She trailed off.
Amber shook her head, "M'lady, I knew it. I'm not cut out for this."
