Chapter Four

"This sandwich is nasty," Greg complains throwing the bitten sandwich back to the tray. "I am craving oatmeal." He says after with a hand gesture. His hand extends accidentally hitting a skater boy against the crowded hallway. "Oh sorry," smiles Greg. The skater was not fond of the small accident immediately eyeing Greg from top to bottom.

"Better be sorry, faggot."

Though the insult isn't directed to Bethany but to her it felt as if it was meant for her since Greg is her best friend. She tries to pull herself together and not say anything to defend him because he prefers it to be ignored so it won't cause more of an attraction. Greg of course ignores it, but Bethany could not stand it anymore. She clenched her knuckles then walks straight towards this kid.

"Beth, do not." Warns Greg. He misses her arm to try and stop her from making a scene but, she targets the kid with fury in her eyes.

"What did you just say?" Bethany asks giving her a distant between both of them.

The boy turns to a friend with a cocky grin on his face nudging his friends shoulder and makes the group of boys laugh. "I am pretty sure you heard." He laughs again and so does his friends.

Bethany without thinking drops her backpack and attacks that skater boy. She begins to hit him everywhere her hand aimed since she had no idea how to fight but because of the anger built inside her everything feels natural. Students began to 'ooh' and 'ee' surrounding them, but a teacher interrupts the circle before anything became worse.

Mr. Jeon sees the scene and notices that his student is involved and rushes pulling Bethany away. The other teacher takes the boy who looks embarrassed and somewhat in confusion of what just happened to him.
"She is fucking crazy!" the skater points then fixes his hoodie aggressively and pulls himself away from the teacher. "Fucking fatass," he insults Bethany.

Bethany ignores the insult but stares the kid in anger because of it. It is people like those who can ruin someone's day and just like that. Those were the people Bethany has so much hatred on. "Insensitive bitch," she whispers underneath her breath.

They separate the two but, Bethany continues her glare as Mr. Jeon takes her towards the office. Security is screaming for the crowd to break off the scene, making it harder to eye the skater. She yanks herself off Mr. Jeon, "Why are you taking me to the office?"

"Whatever happened, you need to speak to the dean about it." He addresses her professionally.

Bethany stops in the front of Mr. Jeon surprising him by this side of her. "Bethany," he turns then scratches his head in frustration.

"Mr

"Mr. Jeon he fucking-"

but cuts Mr. Jeon "language."

"Wait," she pauses at his reaction "why are you irritated?"

Mr. Jeon ignores her question, "what were you going to say?"

"But, Mr. Jeon you-"

"Bethany go inside the office before you get into more trouble." He speaks over her but Bethany gets furious again.

"Why!" She screams and again Mr. Jeon is shocked. "He deserved it! He called my best friend a faggot, Mr. Jeon! And it's not just not today but others tell him that from time to time so I..." she lowers her voice, "blew up and actually did something."

Bethany turns to look away awkwardly removing her hair out of her face. Her heart pulses fast due to the remaining anger inside her so she taps her foot. "It really bothered me." She says fixing her hair once again.

Mr. Jeon closes his eyes and sighs not knowing what to say or do as a teacher. Though he knows how to advice her in a way that a friend would but, because he is not allowed to speak about his personal life he chooses to say something else. "Bethany I know you defended your friend,"

"Best friend," she mutters to correct him.

"No matter the status, both you and him did something wrong."

"But!" She interrupts.

"Listen to me Bethany, he is considered a bully to do that and you what you did is something not violated in school property. So, tell you your story, I am sure they might let you go with a warning. But next time tell a teacher about it instead of lashing out."

Bethany still looking away ignores him and enters the office. Mr. Jeon sighs again and walks away to his class room moments later. As he enters his office, he remembers what that student told him two days ago.
He does not even know why he keeps thinking about it and can't just forget.

"He doesn't even know how to teach." Echoes the voice of the males voice inside Mr. Jeon's mind. He clentches his knuckles and socks his desk.

"Woah," he hears a voice instantly looking forward seeing Bethany's friend at the entrance of his office.

"Hi!" He replies with a grin, "I forgot my worksheets at the office," he awkwardly laughs. "So, you are Bethany's friend, correct?"

"Best friend, I was wondering if she will be okay. She won't get suspended right?"

As soon as he mentions their friendship, Mr. Jeon knows she was fighting for this guy. "Your name?"

"Gregory but, call me Greg."

"Greg, I am sure she will get off with a warning." He smiles but sympathizes for him as she weakly smiles. He replies with a low "thank you" before exiting his office.
Mr. Jeon knows exactly how it feels.
