Fun Fact: this story only has 1000 words (literally only 1000 words)
If you look closely at the tags, you'll find "mental illness". this story, if you haven't noticed, is about a girl (robotic technician), Arden, who has a mental illness. So here's the main plot of the story:
A robotic technician starts to develop voices and thoughts in her head, convincing her that everyone in the world is out to kill her and starts building technology and machines to 'protect' herself and doesn't take care of herself since she's too busy working on new technology that can somehow 'block out' the voices in head. Somehow, all the machines she's built become her 'friends' that can talk to her and seem to cheer her up. As time passes, she comes to a realization that all she's experiencing is a lie; but she then struggles even more and her 'friends' become her 'enemies' as she tries to escape her home and ends up running to a nearby park where she is found the next morning, unconscious, and is sent to the hospital. In the end, she wakes up in a hospital bed and is being treated for her mental illness and realizes that all her 'friends' (machines she built) were just hallucinations.
