1. Planning and Invasion

    Hey! Beware for the terribleness and cringe of this book. Warning! This is my first book so don't be suprised when you start to hate this book. But please give it a chance and if werewolf stuff is your scene, then welcome aboard!
Also I'm sorry for the super short chapter, but this is just to get the story started.

It was just supposed to be a completely normal day in the my pack, the Midnight Blood pack, but we were currently having problems with our rival pack, and they were getting worse and worse each day. As the alpha's daughter, I, Maya Sky Fernández, vow to stop the rival packs once and for all.

    "MAYA GET DOWN HERE THIS INSTANT!" Oh crap, dad's mad, AGAIN. Mom always said that it's because of all the stress of being an alpha, and that I'd understand one day. But I highly doubt that, I mean come on! Nobody can be stressed 24/7 for 15, almost 16, years!

"MAYA!" Ugh. "Coming dad!" I yell back.

As I head upstairs to his office, I do a rerun of all the events that I've done over the past week and why he would need me. As I walk in the room, I'm careful not to breathe too loudly so he won't get mad and go on and on about how my mate would never love me if I struggled to breathe (WHICH I DON'T!)

    "Hiiiiii dad," I say sheepishly. "Maya come sit, there's something your mother and I want to talk with you about." Ok...? That's weird, he's never usually this controlled, and he always uses his alpha voice to scare me, but no, he seems surprisingly.... calm.

    "As you already know, your birthday is next week, and you will be turning 16. If you're lucky, you'll find your mate during the party or within the week. So, we were wondering who you'd want to invite, since it is YOUR birthday and all." My mom says. I grin, pleased that she's actually paying attention to me, "I'd like to know that at least Claire and Jax will be there, other than that, invite the rest of the pack, I mean, it's only fair." I say. Claire has been my best friend since he father, Antonio, is the beta of our pack, and we're the same age.

    But Jax, oh Jax. We've been dating for almost a year, since we started dating on my 15th Birthday, and even though he's about to turn 17 in 5 months, he still hasn't found his mate. (And he's fine, and by fine, I mean, FIIIIINE!)

    "Thank you, you're dismissed." Grumbles father, obviously annoyed by Mom asking for my opinion.

    I'm gonna turn 16! I'm going  to find a kind, good looking mate, even if it isn't Jax, I'm going to be happy with whoever it is.

    But then, I hear screams. Our neighboring rivals, the Dark Moon pack has has invaded and is attacking.

    But.... no, wait, they're not attacking, they're not even in wolf form. They're just coming towards the Alpha's house, MY HOUSE!

    Then I see their Alpha, Alpha Calix. He stops, sniffs the air, and spots me on my balcony. It looks like he says something under his breath as his eyes turn to black. He orders something to his guards, and they continue on, as he just stares at me.

    Then, he just says, "Mate."
