Hayes

Everything from last night seemed like a dream. I confessed to a sleeping Hannah that I had feelings for her, showed her the tree house, kissed her on the cheek, and only met her a few days ago. This was not normal. I turned over and looked at her sound asleep. Her hair was sprawled out on the pillow and she looked simply angelic and peaceful. I reached over to move a piece of hair out of her face, but she stirred before I had the chance to. She muttered something in her sleep that sounded like my name and I cocked my eyebrow at her and propped up on one elbow. Was she dreaming about me? I smirked to myself at the thought. She kept muttering and I was starting to make out what she said.

"Hayes stop it," she furrowed her eyebrows. I looked at her. What?

"Hayes I said stop."

"Hayes seriously stop."

"Hayes no!" she twisted in her sleep. What the heck was I doing?

"Hayes!" she screamed and opened her eyes. Tears were streaming down her face. I rubbed them away and brought her into me.

"It was just a dream, it's okay. I'm here," I hugged her tight.

Her arms were wrapped around me and squeezing the life out of me. I was gonna ask her what she was dreaming about but I didn't want to see her cry over it. She relaxed in my arms and rested her head on my shoulder.

"Good morning," I said after a few moments of silence.

She pulled away and rubbed the sleep from her eyes. So adorable.

"Good morning," she said groggily. Her eyes were halfway opened and she looked like she was barely awake. It seemed pretty early still.

"Go back to sleep Hannah, you look like a zombie," I chuckled.

She tried to hit me but missed by a long shot.

"Told you you're tired," I chuckled.

"No, I'm fine," she yawned and stood up. She started walking over to the window when she tripped over one of my old lacrosse sticks. I walked over to her and knelt down next to her. She was face down in the floor. I tapped her on the shoulder.

"Hannah."

No response.

"Hannah."

This time I was answered with a snore. She was asleep again. I chuckled, picked her up, and brought her over to the "bed". She stirred a little, and I waited to make sure she was asleep before leaving to get some breakfast for us. I drove to the nearest Waffle House and ordered some food for her and I before heading back. She was still asleep when I got there, so I sat across from her and ate my food watching her. It dawned on me a few moments later that this seemed totally creepy. Oh well. I finished and saw that she was still asleep.

Note to self: Hannah isn't a morning person.

Then I remembered, the science project that was due on Monday. Today was Saturday but we still needed to finish it. I crawled over to her and shook her shoulder lightly. She groaned and continued to sleep. Hannah get up. I bent down and kissed her lightly on both of her eyelids. She stirred and her eyes fluttered open.

"I smell food," she groaned.

I chuckled. She wakes up and the first thing she says is "I smell food".

"Yeah, here," I reached back for her food from the Waffle House and handed it to her. She sat up and tied her hair up into a bun. I gaped at her.

"What?" she said with some of the waffle in her mouth. Noticing what she did, her eyes widened, face turned red, and she covered her mouth.
