Fili's P.O.V

Bilbo had decided last night that he would not join us on our adventure and honestly I couldn't think why he would say yes anyway. Gandalf was out of league recruiting a halfling like Mr Baggins. But to my surprise, and many other's of our company, Bilbo came running up behind our procession with the contract papers in his hand flying behind him.

"Welcome to the company of Thorin Oakenshield," announced Balin. Gruffly I tossed a bag of coins over to Kili who was all too happy to accept.

Gandalf sidled up to Thorin's right dude in front of me and looked to have a mission in doing so. What more could the wizard spring on us?

"Is she waiting?" My uncle spoke lowly but I could still hear him.
"Yes, just beyond the clearing," replied Gandalf.
"Good." Uncle dismissed the conversation as if it had never happened. I was now very suspicious but kept it to myself.

Outside the clearing stood tall trees with thick black trunks and evergreen leaves. The first to be of many on this journey. Just on the perimeter, a silver glint caught my eye. As the company moved closer it grew.

Out from behind one of the massive trees came a horse with a mysterious rider on its back. This woman had a hooded cloak up to hide her face. It alone was brilliant. The cloak was silver that shimmered in the moving light as if it rescinded sunshine. Leaves were sewn into the hem and sleeves was a green pattern of intertwining vines.

"Lady Blackwood, do show your face," boomed Gandalf over the remaining distance to where she was.

"As you wish." She spoke sweetly and removed her hood. The first thing I noticed was her eyes. Y/e/c, captivating and alluring. On her wrists were silver armour coupled with one on her left forearm and rings on her right hand. An archer then. Her long y/c/h was lightly woven and sitting delicately in front of her shoulder.

She dismounted her horse and stood to wait for us to approach. When we reached where she was Gandalf and Thorin also dismounted to meet her.

"It is an honour to meet you Thorin, son of Thrain." She gave a courteous bow. He nodded and turned to face the rest of us who were rightly confused.

"This is Lady Y/f/n Blackwood. She will be accompanying us to Mirkwood." She smiled sweetly and looked over all of us. But her eyes locked on mine and she lowered her eyes to the ground in an attempt to hide a blush.

Kili comes up behind me and elbows me in the side.
"Well, this just got a lot more interesting."
"Indeed," I replied.
