She was Gail. Oh no no no. Now she knows where we are. I don't want them messing in my life. They'll probably follow us around everywhere and film every minute of our lives.
"I see where you were Chlo." I say to her pointing at Gail.
"Yeah. Started telling me something about an interview. I tried to walk away but you know how it is." She
told me while sitting next to me at the table."What do you want to order?" I asked her at the same time looking at the menu.
"Anything. For me they are all the same." She said. After a minute she made up her mind to order a pizza with mozzarella.
"Do you want something to drink?" Chloe asked as we were about to order.
"Not now. We'll save that for the party." I said and called for the waiter.
We ordered our food. While waiting for it to come Gail sat across us at the table. Now they know around where we are and will have more information about us. They want to release a documentary about the Bellas.
They constantly ask for interviews. Luckily John isn't here. His sexist comments are not acceptable. I could feel Chloe taking my hand underneath the table.
"What do you want? " I asked Gail.
"I need an interview. We need facts for our documentary. We have to have a clip of you talking." She wouldn't stop explaining herself. "And I have questions prepared!" She pulled a notebook out from her bag.
"We really don't have time for this." Chloe said looking at the long list of questions on Gails sheath of paper.
"We can agree on a time to meet up and have our interview." That was the only thing I could think of to get her away.
"But you'll have to leave now." Chloe stated.
"Okay. " She agreed. "You have my number!"
Gail walked out of the café we were in and I finally was left alone with Chloe. Our lunch came in about ten minutes and we started eating. Why is it so nice spending time with this redhead? She's so beautiful in every way even when she's biting into a pizza slice and cheese is getting onto her nose. We ate, talked and laughed for a while. I wasn't checking the time but Chloe was.
"I really don't want to be late." She said with a worried look on her face.
"We won't. The place is like 15 minutes away from here. And I think you're just stressed." I looked into her blue, gorgeous eyes.
'Maybe. But I think we should get going..!"
We stood up and walked out to our car.
"So why are we even going?" I asked Chloe looking into her beautiful hair.
"Not that I want to go. But first Chicago is going to be there and I want to kinda break up with him. And I thought you and me could have a good time together. And well drink." Chloe said a bit shyly.
"Why are you even together with him?" I needed to know what she saw in him. I would do anything for her to like me. Anything.
"I need to forget." She whispered. Oh and that's all what she's going to tell me? I need more information.
"Forget what Chloe?"
"Everything. Forget that I am not really happy right now. Trying to get through this time of figuring out what to do. And wanting to forget that I am in love with someone who I can't have and that's making my heart hurt just so much. I can almost cry every night before going to sleep. And I don't know why is it so hard now. I've loved that person for more than 6 years. Maybe it's because I am leaving." She almost cried it out.
I put a hand on her shoulder.
"I sometimes feel the same." I whispered to her ear.
We arrived at the party place in about five minutes. Five long minutes that we spent in silence. Not a word. I didn't have anything to say. Okay, well I had a lot to say, but not to her face. She doesn't need to know how I feel about her. I know I'll break at one point and pour everything out telling her every single detail. Not now.
"I don't want to go anywhere yet. Can we stay in the car a few more minutes?" She asked and looked at me with those big blue eyes.
"Yeah, of course!" I said.
Why does this have to be so complicated? And why does she have to be so beautiful? Because I can't stop staring at her hair. She will notice this and it might not end well. Chloe is perfect. Even when she's not. I can't get over her. I know I should. Maybe I should try someone like she did with Chicago. But it didn't go well. And now she's upset. If only I could make her happy. If only I could make her smile. We will get that Chicago guy out of her life.
I heard a message ringing and checked my phone.
"It was your phone, Chlo." I said taking her phone out from her bag.
"Thank you!" She smiled.
We walked into the house. It was dark and a bit scary. I took Chloes hand and we walked further in. Suddenly lights hit us and we were in a large room with colorful lights.
I could feel Chloe pull my hand to the side and turn away.
"What's wrong?" I asked her. She was nervously looking at me.
"Look I don't want to see him. We haven't met eachother in a week and I am not ready to face him. " She said and forced out a weak smile.
"Don't worry, Chlo. There's a reason why I came here with you. "
We walked out to the middle of the room and sat by the counter.
"What do you want to drink?" I looked at her. She was looking at the drink menu.
"A wine." She said and smiled.
"Me too."
We ordered our wines and sat there waiting. I saw Chicago on the other side of the dance floor. Yeah, I can't say that he doesn't look good. Because he is really hot. And I feel like that's the only reason why Chloe even tried to impress him. But she doesn't need to do anything to impress someone. She look too good. I can clearly see why this relationship was not going to work.
He saw us sitting here and started walking towards us. I could see Chloe's hands start shaking and her biting her lip. He walked up to us and sat next to Chloe. He tried to kiss her cheek but she pulled away before his lips touched her.
"Why didn't you want to come with me to this party? It would have been a lot of fun. " He said in his stupid voice.
"I wanted to go with Beca." Chloe said blushing all over her face.
"You are so cute when you blush like this." He said and his fingers touched her face.
"Look I am not blushing because of you!" Chloe raised her voice and looked at him.
"Huh" was all that Chicago was able to get over his lips.
"Emmmm. Are you dating me just because of my looks?" Chloe said with a lot of concern in her voice, "Because it looks like you don't give a shit about me or my feelings. And even if you care I don't. I know that you're hot and stuff but my friends are taking better care if me than you ever would."
"Are you braking up with me?" Chicago didn't look disappointed at all.
.
"Yeah I am. I don't really want I boyfriend. My life was just a bit complicated a few weeks ago. I am sorry!""You're planning on staying single for you're whole life?" He asked weirdly.
"No. I just thought I could find myself a girlfriend." She almost whispered. Why the fuck, Chloe, are you dating a guy when you're gay. That's wrong. I tried really hard to block Theo out of my life so I don't make the same mistake. But Chloe is Chloe.
"Oh okay. It's fine." He said and stood up from his chair.
He started to walk away from us but tuned around."Treat her well, Beca!" He said and walked off.
