Suitcases, Boxes, and Bags
When we get to Jessica's apartment we walk through the doors and see a very colorful living room. The walls are olive green, and the two couches are white. Behind one of the couches is a completely red desk. In front of both couches is a periwinkle blue coffee table, and underneath it is a big bright purple rug.
We take off our shoes and walk into her bed room. There's a TV about 10 feet away from her bed and a book case right next to it. I see some pictures on it so I go over to look at them. I look at one that has her with her big family. They look happy together. My pictures with my family look miserable. My parents never smiled in family pictures, only me and Sarah did.
"So we should get started with packing clothing. What are we going to carry it with?"
"I've been planning on moving for a while. So I have many boxes and bags saved. I also have some suitcases."
"Ok. So I have this all planned out. The boys are going to take your car and get your bed and dresser to my room. When it gets there you guys can just use the map I made for guidance and start putting everything in it's place. Sound good?" I look at everyone and they seem to understand very clearly what's happening. They all nod at me in agreement.
"Which piece of furniture should we start out with Ms. Kate?" Conor says jokingly. I give him a little punch in the arm laughing.
"Shut up Conor. I'm just really excited to have a roommate. That and we also don't have much time until we have to go back. So Jessica and me are going to pack up the things in her dresser first, so you can start by taking apart her bed and loading it into the car."
"This isn't going to work Kate. We can't fit a box spring and mattress into a tiny little car. We'd need a truck or something." Zach says with a concerned voice.
"I will drive Jessica's car back to the institution, and grab my truck. We can use that instead." Jack says grabbing the keys off the table.
"Ok. That works a lot better." I tell him. "Do you want anyone to come with you?"
"No. I'll be fine." And he walks out the door.
I grab Jessica's iPod and plug it into her speakers. I turn on the music and start it with one of my favorite songs.
The boys start taking the sheets off the bed and putting them into a pile on the floor. Soon they're taking the bed apart piece by piece. While they do this, me and Jessica pack her clothes into her suitcases. Once we finish that, we move to her closet and have to start putting things into boxes.
About a half an hour later, Jack is back in his Chevy truck and the trunk is cleared out and ready. The boys load up the bed, mattress and all, and are even able to fit the dresser in the back with it. My phone starts ringing so I answer it.
"Hello?"
"Hey. We're here. So you want everything set up exactly how it is on your map?" Zach says slightly put of breath.
"Ya."
"Ok. So when do you think you will be done packing things up so we can come and pick you guys up?"
"Ummmm, what time is it now?"
"It's... 2 o'clock right now."
"We should be done by 4."
"Ok. Sounds good. Make sure to bring bed sheets also."
"Oh ya. I didn't think of that. Thanks Zach. For everything."
"Anything for my everything."
I blush and hang up.
