A New Roommate

After we finish eating, we get up and throw our trash away and go back to my room to get my back pack for school. As we're walking she gets a puzzled look on her face that shows she's curious about something.

"So where are you planning on living when you get out of here?"

"I want to live either in New York, or France."

"Kate that's really expensive. How do you expect on paying for that?"

"I've got money saved. And my grandfather left me with a trust fund before he died. I get it when I turn eighteen. I'll be fine. And I will have a job by then."

"I wish I had a plan that was as good as yours. I'm currently struggling. I'm just gonna make this month's rent. No matter how many hours I put in I always get so close to being thrown out of my apartment." She says as all her happiness drains from her beautiful face.

"You can come live with me then. And that way, you can pay rent, and the loft will be in my name anyways, so I can give you a little more time and won't make a big fuss if you don't pay by a certain day. I won't mind if your like a couple days late or whatever."

"Kate I couldn't take advantage of you like that."

"Consider it your back up plan. And you could just live here in my room until I can move out. Besides, I'd want you to be there with me through all that's going to happen in my life. Your my best friend ever." She looks at me with tears of relief in her eyes and hugs me tightly. As she hugs me I can see some happiness regain through her body.

"This means a lot to me. Thank you so much. Do you seriously want to share a room with me until you get out of here though?" She says with a little giggle, still hugging me.

"Jessica, if you were helping me, I would be doing the same things you are to me right now. I know how it feels to have something taken away from you and not have anywhere to go. So let's just say I'm keeping you from what I know could happen to you. Consider it as a thank you for everything you do for me every single day."

"So when can I start moving into your room?"

"How about tomorrow. We can tell the front desk that your taking me to collect some left over stuff from my house and instead we'll go start packing everything. We should start with clothes and stuff that you will need daily. Then we will go back and get the rest of your things. And your furniture can go into a storage garage until we move into the loft." We walk into my room and she walks in front of me.

"But this room is gonna need some color or something. It's just way to plain and boring." She looks at around nodding her head. I can tell she's starting to think of ways to decorate the room.

"Fine. We can put some posters up or something." I say with a lethargic smile on my face.
