Chapter 6

Evelyn's POV

".......and next you think of shifting in public, make sure you warn those around so that they don't get an eyeful of an unwanted scene. You make me sick" I thundered before slamming the door in his face.
How dare he try to make things right when only his presence made things worse. Now my family loves him more.
I had given him a piece of my mind which was what I wanted, but why the hell am I feeling so bad.
"Must be because I haven't had a good rest since today. He deserved it " I concluded and went to bed.

I wasn't feeling any better the next either. The things I told him keep disturbing through out the night.
I groaned, grabbing my phone and quickly dialled my best friend's number.
"Hi Emily "
"What's wrong?"
"How did you know? "
"You've never called me this early before. You are lucky I'm awake "
"I couldn't sleep "
"What happened? "
"I insulted a guy. "
"It's normal. Who? "
"Adonis "
"Did he annoy you or something? "
"Kinda. "
"Then he deserved it. Wait, what exactly did you say to him?"
I told her everything that happened last night.
Emily is like my confidant,  she knows everything about me.
"Whoa! That's too harsh "
"But he asked for it" I pressed, hoping that she will support me.
"No one deserves that kind of insult. His parents are dead for Christ's sake, that's painful enough. You didn't need to rub it in "
"What should I do? I need my peace of mind. "
"Apologise"
"What?! Anything else, but that."
I've never done that before in my life.
"That's the only thing. Look I gotta go, my bed seriously needs me. Do whatever you want okay. Bye Eve" she said and hung up.
"Is the whole world against me now. He can go to hell" I murmured, tossing my phone on the bed and walked to the bathroom.

Three minutes later

"Arrgh! Why can't he just get off my mind?!" I whisper yelled throwing my pillow on the ground.
"Better get this stupid apology over with " I decided and headed for my door.
Immediately I touched the knob and opened it slightly, I heard him laugh.
Everything momentarily stopped working, even the earth stopped spinning I think, my self confidence melted. I just realised that I've never heard him laugh before.
"Sh*t! Why did he have to have such a sexy laughter?" I asked no one, swooning like an idiot.
"What the hell is wrong with you? " I whisper yelled at myself, giving myself a little slap before shaking my head.
Gathering my self confidence from wherever they must have fallen, I left the room.
Luckily for me, he was just passing by my room.
He even looked good.
Damn me for not preparing for this.
I pretended not to notice his mood swing.
" I want to speak with you " I said, standing in front of him.
He stopped.
"Follow me " I ordered and went downstairs.
Don't blame me, I don't even know how things like this are being done.

I waited for a minute and he didn't come down.
Idiot! Is this some kind of punishment or what.
I heard footfalls like someone was coming down and I suddenly became nervous.
"Pull yourself together, it's just an apology nothing more " I whispered to myself. That didn't work.
Taking a deep breath, I turned only to find out that it was my brother after all.

"Where is he? " I asked, putting on a composed look.
I hope he didn't see me when I was fidgeting like a chicken.
"Are you crazy or just plain stupid?" He asked visibly angry.
What's his problem now. Mother hen.
"What the hell did you do to him?
" he continued , grabbing her arm.
"Let go of my arm? " I demanded.
"Or what? I've had enough of your stupid immature ways"
"And what are you gonna do? Kick me out as soon as you become alpha. " I spat.
"Keep this up and I might just grant that wish." he said, releasing my arms roughly and went upstairs.
"Ouch stupid bully" I said sticking my tongue out and rubbing my arm.
That imbecile is gonna give me another scar. Stupid kid.
Time to see Emily and tell her that her stupid didn't work or maybe got ruined by me.
Didn't know apologising could be this hard.
Whatever, but I need my peace of mind back and soon.

Adonis' POV

Immediately, Evelyn came out of her room.
I couldn't help it, but as soon as I saw her, the smile on my face was wiped off.
She's just bad news.
" I want to speak with you " she said, blocking my path.
I stopped, waiting for her to say something.
I felt the mate pull, but I paid it no attention.
"Follow me " she ordered and went downstairs, leaving me surprised.
Is she's just so full of herself or is this another bundle of insult.
I didn't bother looking at her retreating back and I was glad that my wolf didn't bother me about it. He hasn't spoken to me since the incident last night.
Maybe he realised she wasn't worth it. Better to be mateless than have her as one.
"Wanna talk about it? " Nick asked, looking concerned.
I shook my head.
"There's nothing to talk about.
I'll meet you in the evening at the pack training grounds to discuss how I'll go tomorrow. I'll need your advice." I said.
"Whatever you say, alpha " he replied, teasing me.
I couldn't help, but smile.
I won't transfer the hate I have for Evelyn transfer to others.
I thought he was angry a few seconds ago.
"Of course servant " I said.
"You wish ".
I laughed before entering my room.
Can't wait for tomorrow. I wonder how they will receive me.
Will they let me be their alpha?
Is Oliver still alive?
