Clarissa POV

The next few weeks I trained and grew stronger. I could control the wind element and during one particular storm I found I was able to control it. I parted clouds and created lightning, I managed to bring down a tree with one lightning strike. I was in awe of what I had done, but also scared. My power was building and I couldn’t help but wonder if I would be able to control it forever.

The night before we were due to travel to save my mother Kale and I had a quiet meal together in the smaller dining hall. Gregor had been absent as he was ensuring we had everything we needed for the journey. He felt slightly redundant as he was not coming with us, as he was an old man I could understand this. Kale had explained to me that the journey should only take two days and the land we would pass through was mostly barren due to the last war so we should not have any trouble.

Once we had finished our meal, Kale prepared to leave me for the evening. I looked up at him, staring straight into his hypnotic gaze “Stay.” A smile played on my lips “Stay with me.” I wound my hands behind his neck and pulled him down to meet my lips. His eyes showed his surprise at my boldness, as my body moulded against his I could feel that he definitely wanted this.

He lifted me into his strong arms and carried me to my room, not breaking our kiss once. As he laid me on the bed, he began to remove my outer layers, slowly and delicately. My hands slightly shaking began to unbutton his shirt revealing his striking chest, his muscles looking like they where straining against the confines of his skin. I melted into another kiss and when we broke apart all layers had been removed. I know I had seen his body previously, but this time, knowing what was about to happen made it seem like the first time. I took in the size of him with wonder and pulled him down to me again.  “I love you Kale” I whispered to him.

“Love you too Princess”

Once the sun had risen the following morning we departed. Kale rode Higor, Bragg rode Duke and I was riding Strike, a large and beautiful horse. He was pure black apart from a strike of white across his head. 6 others also travelled with us. As predicted we met no trouble, the first night we camped which was very basic. We all slept on the ground with a guard keeping post. The next morning we set off again, the weather was harsh, heavy rain fell from the sky which made visibility almost non existent.

I jumped down from Strike, wondering if I could control the weather enough to rid us of this rain. Kale landed at my side and brought me into his chest in a cuddle. “What are you thinking Princess?” he murmured in my ear.

“I was thinking, well wondering if I could make the storm go.” I shrugged my shoulders “but I do not think I am strong enough”

“Try my love.”

I nodded with his encouragement and cleared my mind. I raised my hands slightly to my waist and felt a surge of power come from deep within me. Eyes closed, I envisioned the sky clear, I could feel the power drawing from me, and I began to feel lethargic but kept going. I slumped slightly against Kale and opened my eyes. The sky was clear with no threat of a storm cloud.

“Wow” I turned and looked at Kale “it worked” I was surprised, I thought I could stop the rain not disperse the storm all together.

Kale smiled down at me and placed a light kiss on my lips “Wow indeed my love. Come we should catch up with the others.”

I mounted Strike and urged him into action “Lets see if you can catch me!” I laughed as Strike ran at full speed. It did not take long to catch up with Bragg and the others.

“Where is Kale?” Bragg looked amused, realising we must have raced each other.

“Back there somewhere. I left him in a trail of my dust” I smiled happily and turned as I heard Higor approaching.
