Thank You Molly Hooper – Sherlock and Molly
“You’re wrong, you know. You do count. You’ve always counted and I’ve always trusted you.” – Sherlock Holmes: The Reichenbach Fall
Sherlock crawls out of bed with his sheet still wrapped around him. He reaches for his phone and waits for it to load. Four new messages. The phone screen reads and Sherlock smirks wondering why he is all so popular this morning. John and Mary are on their honeymoon on some tropical island somewhere, they did tell Sherlock where they were going but he either was not listening or has ‘deleted it’.
John Watson
Don’t you ever post on my blog again!
And do not go letting on that Mary is pregnant!
Lastly, do not get bored and shoot the wall again!
That is an awful lot of exclamation marks.
Sherlock replies snidely as he reads a text from Lestrade: I hear you are bored. Fancy solving a case for me? – Lestrade. Sherlock tuts and pulls a fresh suit out of his wardrobe.

Sherlock arrives at Molly’s lab and startles Molly when she enters. “Sherlock, can I help you? Do you need to see a body or?” Molly asks whilst flicking through some corpse’s notes on her clipboard.
“I was wondering if you want to come and solve crimes with me?” Sherlock asks and Molly freezes. “Just this once, while John is away. I could do with an outside opinion.” Molly plonks the clipboard down onto the sterile surface and pulls off her latex gloves. She hasn’t even replied to Sherlock but he knows what she is thinking.

“This one has got us all baffled.” Lestrade begins whilst leading the consulting detective and Molly to the scene of the crime. “A Ford Escort, silver, has been smashed to smithereens by just being parked in this field. But that is not all…” Lestrade yanks open the boot of the car and a foul smell is released making Molly’s eyes water. There is a pool of blood at the edge of the boot and clumps of brunette hair have become stuck to the bottom. “The victim is twenty-five year old; Grace Jones whose body is in no fit state to examine because her body is about as mashed up as the car.” Lestrade stands back and lets Sherlock circle the car with his examining glass in hand. “Molly.” Sherlock states as he steps aside.
“Me? Well erm…” She begins. “The victim was tied up in the boot of the car and the killer must have paid some guys to smash the car up…” She peers at her feet shamefully. “I am not a detective, you are Sherlock and I know you are dying to tell us all how the murderer did it.” Molly knows that Sherlock is a show off.
“The main dents are to the back, left rear and the right hand side of the vehicle. This dent-” Sherlock points to the left hand side of the boot. “-was created by a red, two-wheel drive car. You can see by the colour of the scratches and the other dent had been made by a green car.” Lestrade nods in acknowledgement as he scribbles some notes down in his book. “The skid marks suggest the car was moved around a lot by the sheer force of the collisions with the other vehicles. There are four traces of foot prints, all different so you need an EDPL.” Sherlock suggests with a grin.
“EDPL?” Lestrade questions.
“Electrostatic dust print lifter. Do they not teach you this stuff?!” Sherlock asks sarcastically but turns his attention back to the scene. “The blood here…” He points at some detail, buried in the mud. “This blood does not belong to the victim but to one of the killers who obviously hit their head whilst plummeting their cars into this vehicle. Should have worn a seat belt.” Sherlock tuts at the stupidity of the driver.
“So let me get this straight. You are looking for four suspects, a red and a green car and one of the suspects have a cut to their forehead?” Molly asks and Sherlock nods. “You got all that from one look! Blimey…” Molly wanders off back to her car.
“So is this a permanent arrangement?” Lestrade inquires but Sherlock furrows his eyebrows in confusion. “You and Molly. Solving crimes together.”
“Just trying it out. The cars will have scratches on; keep me updated and no more stupid cases. I know John has asked you to keep me busy.” Sherlock states whilst fixing his coat collar. Lestrade puts his hands up shamefully and roams to speak to the other officers. Sherlock strolls up to Molly and kisses her on the cheek. Her pale cheeks flood with pink as she blushes. “Thank you Molly Hooper.” He whispers next to her ear.
“What for?” She inquires.
“For everything…”
A/n this is my best attempt at deductions. Hopefully I will improve! I am sure yours will be way better Steph!
I am not Connan Doyle, Gatiss or Moffat so don't hate me for creating this bad deductions. Please check out my other fanfictions :) ~ Mae
