~actually nice~

Shane's thoughts:

I met a boy. Not just any boy, he seems different to the rest of them. He makes me feel things I've never felt before, all good things of course.

He is so pretty and even has a pretty name; a pretty name for a pretty boy.

I never understood why people usually associate the words 'pretty' and 'beautiful' with girls, I think Ryland is the definition of both, and more.

I know i shouldn't feel this way about a boy though. " It's not 'natural' " apparently.

I don't mind too much, I'm just a bit confused with myself.

Ryland's thoughts:

The boy who lives across the street from me seems really kind. I don't think I've ever seen someone as perfect as him. His face just goes well with his personality, which are both so pristine.

I don't think I could ever get him off my mind, no matter how hard I tried. But I like thinking about him. Even though I don't know too much about him yet, I think he'll be a part of my life;

And I hope he stays a part.

-------------------------------------------------
Shane ran across the street and back to his house before quickly opening the door and letting himself inside.

"Hey Shane where were you?" He heard a voice say softly , from the kitchen.
Shane sighed deeply and went to see his mum who was reading the bills with a worried expression written all over her face.

"Mum is everything okay?" Shane asked, hoping his mum would just answer with a simple 'yes' as he didn't want her to get into the money issues they had which would make Shane more upset with each distressing word.

"Yeh I guess. Where were you?"
"Some new neighbours moved in and I invited them round for dinner." Shane blurted out, not wanting her to be mad that her son had just invited some strangers around their house.

Thereasa (Shane's Mum) tilted her head to the side and looked at him. "So, who are they?"

"There are two middle-aged looking people; Lucy Adams and Ben Adams..."

His mum nodded as a sign for him to carry on.

Shane tried not to blush or smile at the thought of the boy but he couldn't hold back. "And a son, he looks around my age and he's called" Shane took a breath. "Ryland."

He could feel his cheeks burning. He knew he shouldn't feel this was about a boy. If it was a girl then everything would be more clear. But it's not a girl. It's a boy.

"Shane, why are you blushing?" His Mum asked approaching him slowly. "I-i don't know. I think it's just hot in here."

A hand was placed under Shane's chin which brought his face up. "You can tell me if anything happened between you and the boy." She reassured him.

"Nothing happend, I just spoke to him that's all."
His mum nodded and turned around to open the fridge.
