Shane's thoughts:
Ryland is adorable. He complimented me. No one ever compliments me.
I still can't believe it.He keeps looking at me, In a way that no one else looks at me.
It's confusing, but intriguing.
This has been the first time in so long that I've felt a bit of confidence, and if he'd never had come here, I probably still would've never felt that.
I think i might like him. I hope he will like me too. Probably not, no one would ever like me.
I'll just have to wait for now. Wait for disappointment.

Ryland's thoughts:
I've never felt so happy yet so sad. The reason I'm happy: Shane.
The reason I'm sad: why people would be mean to someone as sweet as Shane. He's so innocent, why would anyone want to hurt him in anyway?
The reaction he has when I compliment is priceless. He honestly looks so cute when he covers his face with his sleeve and blushes.
Ryland, stop thinking this way about a damn boy. Think about girls or something.
This is hopeless, everyone is just going to have to hate me.
-------------------------------------------------
Shane pulled a chair out for Ryland and let him sit down before taking a seat next to him.
Ryland's parents took seats opposite the boys and sat patiently, waiting for Theresa to bring the food in. Finally she walked in and placed the food infront of each of them before taking a seat.
"Thank you Theresa, this looks amazing." Ryland said in his fanciest accent, causing Shane to let out a small muffled giggle.
The boy's parents stared blankly at them before thanking Shane's mum and starting to eat. They watched as Shane and Ryland kept whispering different things into eachothers ears, making both of them laugh simultaneously.
"So how has moving in been so far today?" Theresa said, breaking the silence.
"Ryland's found it a bit difficult," they started saying, causing Ryland's attention to shift onto the conversation his parents were having.
"He didn't have the easiest life back in London."
Ryland immediately dropped his knife and fork and looked up at his parents before they started to talk again.
"He had a few issues and would get into a lot of trouble at school. So we decided to move here so he can have a new start."
Shane looked over to Ryland who had tears forming in his eyes. He put his hand on the boy's knee, trying to tell him that it's all going to be okay.
"By the looks of it he's having a good start. I don't think we've ever seen him as happy as he was earlier in years."
Ryland looked up at Shane as if to say sorry for being an inconvenience but Shane thought he was the opposite. They smiled at eachother before starting to eat again.
After a few more conversations dinner was over. "Can Ryland stay for a little longer?" Shane begged his mum, tugging on Ryland's arm as if he was a child.
"If it's okay with his parents." She nodded, looking towars Ryland's parents who were standing in the doorway.
"Okay but only for a couple hours. Thanks again for dinner and we will see you round." They said before waving goodbye and walking hand in hand back to their house across the road.
Shane ran upstairs with Ryland behind him and they sat on his bed. "Can I ask you something?" Shane asked all of a sudden.
"Of course."
"Why haven't you been happy?"Ryland paused and lied down on his back, staring up at the ceiling. Shane lied next to him and looked over.
"Sorry if that was a loaded question."
"No it's okay. Basically I've never understood myself. I never really fit in with anything and I just never felt as if I 'belonged' you know?"Shane nodded before realising he has been staring at the boy the whole time.
Ryland turned to face him before smiling."Aww Ryland, you look so tired. Do you want to sleep?"
Ryland was fighting to keep his eyes open, but failed and closed his eyes. Shane couldn't help but stare. He lifted a blanket over the boy so he wouldn't get cold then layed back down next to him.
-------------------
3 hours later
-------------------Shane woke up, startled and looked over at the clock which was on the table next to his bed. "Shit" he muttered to himself looking back over to the boy next to him who was sleeping peacefully.
He didn't want to wake him up; He couldn't do such a thing. But he knew he had to go back home. He lifted Ryland bridal style out of the bed and saw his mum in the living room.
"Mum" he whispered. " could you open the front door for me please?"
She nodded before opening the door and letting Shane out. He knocked on Ryland's house door until his mum opened it and let Shane in.
"His rooms the first one on the left." She said, keeping her voice low.
Once he has placed the boy on his bed, he tucked him in and turned off the light.
"Goodnight Ryland." He said softly before starting to leave."Goodnight shaney" he heard a voice whisper, causing a smile to form on his face.
He walked back down the stairs and let himself out.
That was the point he knew, his life would never be the same again.
He had never realised one person could make someone else smile so much in one day. But it had happend even though he thought it seemed impossible.Shane sat on his window sill, holding his ukulele. Ryland took up Atleast 99/100 of his thoughts and he had to express it some way.
"Would you be so kind, as to fall in love with me." He sung out his window, hoping no one would hear. "You see I'm trying, I know you know that I like you but that's not enough, so if you will, please fall in love with,
Me"
