Shane's thoughts:

I can't get him out my head. I don't want to. He's way too pretty to forget.

I can't believe he hasn't shouted at me yet, asking me why I'm talking to him.

Weird.

Whatever, I'm glad he hasn't.

Ryland's thoughts:

Shane carried me home last night.

I don't think I've seen anything as adorable as that.

Even though we only just met yesterday, I'm already feeling a connection.

I hope no one suspects anything; if my mum thought I was gay she'd kill me.

Same with my dad, he hates gay people more than I hate shopping carts. God I bloody hate those things.

Shane's probably not even interested in boy's, so most hope is probably lost. I'll just ask him. At one point. when I have courage.

-------------------------------------------------

Shane sat on his bed facing Joey, his best friend of five years. He could trust him with anything; Anything at all.

"Joey I need your help."
He said, avoiding eye contact to lessen the awkward tension.

"With what?"

"I think I like a boy."

Joey immediately shifted all his focus onto the boy sitting opposite him, who was drawing patterns with his finger in the blanket underneath him.

"Who? Is it me?" He said jokingly, putting two hands under his own chin.

"In your dreams. And anyway, you like Daniel."

"How can I not like Daniel?"

Shane rolled his eyes at Joeys comment and walked over to the window. He stared towards Rylands house, across the street from his.

Joey got up from the bed he was sitting on and walked over to Shane.

"What're you looking at?" He questioned, causing Shane to shift his focus onto Ryland who was sitting on a sofa in -what he guessed- the living room.

"Oh just the new neighbour."

Joey immediately looked over Shane's shoulder and towards the same house. "Ooh is that the new neighbour?" He asked, over-enthusiastically.

"Yeh" Shane replied softly. "It is."
He couldn't stop himself from smiling when talking about the new boy.

"You like him don't you?" Joey said, raising an eyebrow.

"Um no I just. Yeh." Shane stuttered out in response.

"Then ask him out!"

Shane hesitated before speaking again. "I can't just 'ask him out.' I met him yesterday."

"Good point. Just see how things go."

"I'm not even sure if he's gay."

"He could be bi."
