chapter five - unexpected

We collapsed onto the sofa, exhausted from the day. Jimin excused himself to use the washroom.

"Urgent matters," he said with a smirk.

"Whatever," I said. " Just make sure to aim."

His eyes widened, but he didn't say anything back. He was shaking his head and laughing to himself on the way. I rolled my eyes and suppressed a smile.

I looked around and noticed that Daniel wasn't home. I felt a bit weird at the thought of introducing Jimin to him. Maybe I just didn't want him to get the wrong idea. I shrugged it off and faced Somin.

"So, pizza?"

"Nah, I'm not really hungry."

Her stomach growled in protest and I raised an eyebrow.

"Come on, Somin, your tummy says otherwise." I sang in a teasing tone.

"Oh ok, but don't say I didn't warn you. I eat like a pig."

I clapped my hand over my mouth and widened my eyes in mock disgust. Her eyes became guarded and her mouth dropped down the tiniest bit in embarrassment.

"Oh my god," I said.

"You shouldn't have said that, Somin. Scaring her off so soon. Ugh."

I could hear her muttering to her self.

"I EAT LIKE A PIG TOO!"

She looked back at me as if I was crazy, which I probably am. She grinned in embarrassment, and so did I. That soon turned into a laughing fit, and soon enough we were rolling around on the floor, crying our eyes out.

Jimin walked in on us, and raised an eyebrow. He didn't say anything, so I assumed he was used to this type of behaviour from his sister.

We got up, and she slapped my arm.

"Yah, what was that for?!" I said, while rubbing at the red patch on my forearm.

"You didn't need to scare me like that! I thought you were gonna stop being friends with me," she mumbled, embarrassed.

"What are we, five years old?" I asked jokingly.

"Sometimes it feels like that," Jimin's sarcastic drawl sounded from the background.

We both simultaneously turned around to glare at him, and he recoiled.

"May I remind you what will happen if you continue to annoy me?" Somin threatened.

He shook his head and sunk further back into the cushions of the couch.

"Good."

I ordered a jumbo cheese pizza, and we jumped back onto the couch, throwing our feet up on the coffee table. I was too lazy to get up and get the remote, so I used The Force to get it to reach my hand. Yes, I know that it doesn't work, but we've all tried that once in a while, right?
