I ran out of the house crying not even knowing my destination. I really want to die right now. My boyfriend just broke up with me and what hurts the most is the fact that my mom was probably going to die. So why should I not kill myself right out?

"For a whole lot of reasons" I heard a voice behind me... Derek
What is he doing here?

"Are you stalking me because if you are I dont have time for our argument right now"

"Oh no! I was still standing outside your house when I saw you ran out" he said
"So do you want to tell me why you want to kill yourself?"

"Jake left me and my mom has cancer"it just rushed out of my mouth. I guess I really needed to tell someone if not I would burst

I didnt even know I was crying until derek caught one of my tears and wrapped his arms around me. His warmth filled me instantly. After minutes of crying my eyes out and ruining my makeup, I pulled out of his embrace and appreciated him. I really needed that hug

"She's going to die derek. How can I go on without her?"

"She's not going to die. A lot of people survive cancer. Have faith that she will survive this. She really needs you now. Let her know that you will always be there for her and you will fight this together. Be strong for her" I let his words sink. He's right. I have to be strong for her.

"You really think she will survive this?" I asked doubt still creeping in

"Yes I know she will"

With that I genuinely smiled for the first time today "Thanks derek" and I hugged him

"Now let's go get ice cream" my smile widened at the word "ice cream"

"Ice creeeeeeaaaaaaam" I said giggling and dragged him up with me.

After ice cream, I thanked derek again as he accompanied me home for the second time today. I went home feeling highly positive thanks to derek. No more tears. Jake did not deserve me plus he was the most selfish THING on earth and my mom will beat this cancer thingy so there's no need to feel down.

The next day was weekend so no school. No friends in school just my family and i. I dragged my mom to the kitchen so we could cook together. She was shocked. Let's just say I'm a whiz in the kitchen I mean ironically. So we make pancake or tried to cos it came out wrong.... Totally wrong.
Then we tried to make juice. We combined about five fruits together: apple, banana, water melon, cashew and berries. It came out..... WRONG too. We probably shouldn't have added the cashew.

"This is terrible" mom said

"At least we didnt burn the kitchen but we can't eat that. It really is terrible" I said back

"But you know who can..." Mom smirked and on realization of what she meant I smirked back

"Honey"

"Caleb" we both yelled

The guys were startled as they came down probably wondering what we were up to

"Sit" mom ordered. Trust me you dont want to mess with my mom when she uses that ordering tone on you.

Both dad and caleb sat down and we presented our masterpiece to them

They both glanced at it skeptically.

"What's this? The dog's shit coated with flour?" Caleb asked

"You took the word out of my mouth, son" dad muttered

"We made pancakes"

"We don't have a dog" Mom and I said it in unison

"This is pancake?" Then they started laughing

"Eat now" mom said

They both took one each and ate swallowing it forcefully. They will like some juice now to go with the pancakes"How about some freshly made homemade juice?" I asked

"Yes please"

"Please"

I gave them each a glass of juice to drink and as gullible as they are, they drank it

"Swallow" mom said as they made attempt of spitting it out

They swallowed it forcefully

"What's in this? The dog's urine?"

"For the last time,we don't have a dog"

"It's cashew"

We spent the rest of the weekend at the mall, watching movies, rating movies and even water gun fight. It was surprisingly fun. I have high hope now that we can beat this thing
