ONWARD WE GOOOO FELLOW READER✌️
I sat at the bus stop, palms sweating, the sound of silence. (Lol that sounds so cliche😂) A girl was sitting next to me, didn't know who she was. I don't know who most people are these days. Since my dad left me and my mum, we traveled a lot for her work. We only stayed in one place for about a month. I'm quiet person, you know, don't have any friends, gets bullied, that kinda stuff. I don't care, out of sight out of mind, I guess. I just keep low and don't talk much. So anyway, this one day things started to change, a lot.
"Hi, I'm Lily. What's your name?" I heard a shy but inviting voice say. I looked around but didn't see anyone else there except me and her. "Um, Jordan" I replied. "I'm just waiting for the bus. Oh well obviously. That sounded stupid," I mumbled, regretting every word. I heard a giggle. "You're funny. Want to sit together?" She said. I looked at her. Long brown hair, big hazel eyes, why would she want to sit next to me? "So..." I heard her say. "Oh YES!! I mean sure, if you know that's ok with you then that would be ok with me but only-" "I'll take that as a yes."
"A few seconds later the bus arrived. I walked up the stairs to get in. DONT TRIP AND MAKE A FOOL OF MY SELF! Ok all good. My bare feet walked along the cold bus floor... AND I TRIPPED! Who. Trips. Over. Lino. I must of been dropped onto a bed at birth... Ok maybe dropped on the floor, OK MAYBE THROWN WITH ALL MIGHT AT THE WALL! Is that good enough? Good! Ok on with the story. Lily giggled and helped me up, I could feel my face burning up. We sat on the back seats. "Want a mint?" She asked. "Erm sure!"
I felt like I knew this girl. I didn't like her or anything, but more like had some sort of connection with her.
We arrived at school and I said bye to Lily. I've always loved that name but whenever I say it my mum looks really upset, dunno why though. She's been a wreck since dad left.
I went through another painful first day and saw Lily as she exited her class. "Hey, how was you first day at Glenford intermediate?" Said Lily in her calm, reassuring voice. I shrugged. "Good I guess." I lied. "Great! Seeya tomorrow!" Lily said as she walked across the gravel road. I waved goodbye and sighed as I saw my mum driving into the small car park. She arrived with her head out the window yelling "HOW WAS YOUR FIRST DAY AT SCHOOL?" I looked around, then down at the ground. "Like always, I guess."
