"Eomma developed lymphoma," he informed, unable to look me in the eyes.
Jae quickly looked up after he spoke, watching closely for my reaction. Her body was already weak as it is, lymphoma would only set her back further.
"What do you mean, lymphoma? It's not that serious, right? It's only in the beginning part of it so they can treat it easier, right?" I questioned frantically, I ran my hands through my ponytail, messing it up in the process.
"Hana, calm down. The doctors are treating her the very best they can, but eomma is weak," he explained, calmly. Jae grabbed my shoulder gently, his warm hand sent chills down my spine.
I huffed a frustrated breath of air and leaned back onto the counter, staring down at my feet.
"How am I supposed to debut knowing eomma is sick in a hospital bed?" I whispered to myself.
My hands settled down at my sides, as I tapped my heal. Jae watched me worriedly, and said, "should I go get him?"
"Who?" I asked curiously.
"Jinyoung,"
My head snapped up, glaring at his words. Jinyoung. Jae hadn't the slightest idea who I would want with me right now.
"Call him," I sighed, sliding down so my bottom rested on the floor.
I pulled my phone out, and handed it up to my older brother. Once he took it, my head rested between my knees while my arms hugged them tightly. My body was shaking from exhaustion and stress.
"Hyung, it's Jae," he said quietly into the microphone. "Hana needs you."
Just as quick as the call began, it ended. I counted the seconds until I heard the door open. 45 seconds. No knock. He just walked in and found me on the floor of the kitchen.
"Oh, Hana," he whispered solemnly, pulling me into his warm embrace.
"Lets go to your room," he told me, lifting me up off the ground and walked us to my room.
My head was placed on his chest as he carried me. There was a peaceful feeling about being in his arms. Safe.
Without hesitation he opened the first door on the right, then placed me on my bed before closing the door behind him. I don't understand how he knew where my room was, he hasn't ever been over to my knowledge.
"You don't have to say anything if you don't want to," he assured me, as he sat next to me on my bed.
"Why is this happening now?" I sobbed, my voice barely above a whisper. Tears streamed down my cheeks and off my chin, before finally landing my lap.
His warm, muscular arms held me tightly as he drew me onto his lap. I rested my head on his chest, crying into his shirt. Jinyoung stayed calm, allowing me to let out my emotions.
"Shh, Hana, it's going to be fine." He rocked us back and forth.
"What am I going to do?" I took a deep, shaky breath.
To that, he did not answer. I didn't blame him though, he didn't want me to hurt anymore than I already did.
For the rest of the night, Jinyoung held me. Quietly rocking back and forth, back and forth, as if I was a small child who needed to be conciliated. The boys left us be as well, Jae was probably holding Kai right now too, as he cried about our mothers sickness. Ewan slept silently, since I never once heard his whines.
As I finally began to relax, my alarm rang. I Need U by BTS pulled me from my daze as I pressed dismiss.
"Oppa," I called, causing Jinyoung jump slightly. "I have rehearsal."
