Kiss and Tell

Chapter 7 - Explain, Please

Ron stormed off as Harry and Draco stood in the Great Hall, stunned. Harry started after him, completely forgetting that Malfoy was attached to him, and he dragged the Slytherin around to catch up to Ron.

"Ron. Listen to me. RON."

Ron turned around. "What Harry. What could you possibly have to say that would make this better."

Harry sighed. "Listen. I know you don't like Draco-"

Ron threw his hands up "oh great. We're on a first-name basis now are we."

Harry started again. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you I was gay. I didn't even really know, myself. But you're my best friend but if you can't deal with this then it's going to be a problem."

Ron sighed. "Harry you don't get it. It's not that I don't approve of your being gay. I don't particularly like your choice, but why did the entire Great Hall know before I did?"

Harry stepped forward, dragging Malfoy with him. "I'm sorry. I was going to tell you, but it's just been so crazy lately that I never really got the chance."

Ron nodded. "I get that. I really do, but...I mean...Malfoy? How would you feel if I started dating Hermione and didn't tell you? Not that that would ever happen, but hypothetically. No offense Hermione."

Hermione rolled her eyes "whatever, neanderthal."

Ron glanced at her "what? Never mind. Harry I'm not mad that it's Malfoy, I'm just mad that you didn't tell us."

Harry looked down. "sorry"

Then Ron rounded on Malfoy "AND YOU. I know your kind. I'll say this once and never again. If you hurt him, I'll jinx you into tomorrow. Not. Kidding."

Malfoy snickered. "I'll keep that in mind Weasley. Thanks."

He took Harry's hand. "Let's go Potter. We probably have some explaining to do to my friends."

Under his breath Ron muttered "I didn't know you even had friends." Hermione shot him a look.
