Above is Todd Roid

TODD ROID

Howdy! Yes I am proudly Texan. My name is Todd James Roid, squad leader and field leader of the eagle unit; for a farm boy from the town of Marfa in West Texas it's quite an achievement for me.
Imagine knowing about the H.A.T.S all your life and the promise of being part of it and then one day the force behind that promise – in my Case my parents- vanishes and you're left with squashed dreams and trampled hopes.
That's how I felt when my parents went M.I.A and I got into to the social service system. Moving from one foster home to the other, causing problems so that I wouldn't have to spend half a year in the foster homes; I needed to be constantly on the move to keep myself hidden from the Nam'aquas.
Yes, at that age I knew about the Nam'aquas and that they were on the red alert for new recruits and we in the system was their best picks because no one care about us. So don't blame me for not trusting Dr. Wells when he specifically asked to adopt me, me! a sixteen year old still in the system.
As time went by in his care I grew to trust him and he transformed me from being a Texan farm boy with complex issues to a H.A.T.S operative, an elite one at that.
Recently I have been getting vibes about the eagle unit and I strongly believe the unit has a greater part to play in the universe, everything happening now seems orchestrated by a greater force I don't know of but I am willing to discover.
Finally it's my turn to move a piece in this game of chess called life and am at crossroad...........

The milky way galaxy,

I chuckled at their expression. "He loves doing that. You'll get use to it soon" Casmir blinked twice and glanced up the drill made vent Dr. Wells flew out from.
"What the heck is he?" Fas asked running his hand through his hair to shake off the startle.
"C'mon let me show you guys around." I began to lead them into the base. "He is a genetic mutant." I replied Fas' question.
Casmir came up to my right. "You are his second right?" he asked pocketing his palms.
"Yes you can call me that." I grinned and Casmir smiled at me. "I am the pioneer recruit of the unit, so you can say I know better than the others." I explained.
"And you really like that huh?" Fas nudged my arm. I cut him a look.
"You have no idea how much the H.A.T.S mean to me."
"For someone who became an operative- let's say three years ago- you have grown quite attached to the organization." Casmir whistled as I lead them through the corridor.
"Four years not three- I corrected- you will too, if it's all you have left of your parents, am sure you Omarion can relate with that." I bit out.
"Yes I can, and speaking of parents, where are ours?" Casmir stopped the procession by pulling me to a stop. "In the jet you insinuated you knew something of their location."
I sighed. That was a topic I didn't like discussing. "I don't know much, but I know they aren't M.I.A, they were simply called out of retirement and in one of the galaxies." I replied and Casmir cocked a brow.
"Is that what Wells told you?" Impunity rang in his voice.
"You don't trust him" I stated pointedly and he nodded in reply. "At first I didn't too, just give it awhile and you will get comfortable around him."
"Comfortable?" Fas scoffed, I had almost forgotten he was there. "I read people and I have this feeling that Mr. Eagle- he glance up the vent- is hiding something." He said.
I looked away, they were confirming my feelings. It wasn't just my feelings, Ca'se, Ny'ssa, and Ley were all feeling the same thing and now this two new guys just meeting him are feeling the same way.
"You feel it too." Casmir stated with all confidence and I looked at him and for the first time I really saw HIM.
My ability allows me see a man's aura and sometimes his astral being- his soul and as I stared into Casmir's misty eyes I could see a part of him no one else, not even himself could see and it intrigued me.
His aura unlike an operative's was a swirl of many bright colors. It was almost mystic to see, his presence exuded tightly suppressed power and his soul was that of a tamed storm. His haughty steady look reflected how quickly he could process information and his relaxed posture belied his keen awareness his surroundings. The energy he expelled and the one he took; in every exhale and inhale he made told me he was an energy talent.
Above all these, what puzzled me most about him was the constant change of the astral projection of his body physique. His body image was constantly changing and fusing every now and then he comes in contact with anything foreign to his body.
I sighed to return to reality, when I go astral; the time seems to stop and I have no control of it. As I came back to reality Casmir blinked twice and glanced around as if lost, but quickly recovered.
"If Dr. Wells was hiding something Ca'se would know." I said closing that chapter. "So where do we begin first?" I said turning to face the corridor where it divided to the right and left. "The base was built into the mountain, the left corridor would take us to the personal quarters and the right, to the base facilities- turning back to them- so where do we begin?"
"The personal-" Fas began to say but Casmir rolled his eyes and pulled me to the right.
I showed them the gym room , the recreation center. "Recreation center?" Fas asked. "Recreation as in fun and relaxation?"
"No it's a room where M.A.R.T.I.N can materialize whatever physical thing we need. So if you need clothes, toothbrush.... Whatever at all that's the place to go." I explained
"Great I was thinking about sharing wardrobe with Ley when the tigress had said- he mimicked Ny'ssa's voice- will you give up your life for the H.A.T.S ?"
"That wasn't what she said." Casmir said quickly.
"Whatever, buh in my head I was like; what will I do, the only clothes I had were the ones I had on and I am sure she won't have liked turning the jet to turkey to get my clothes." He replied.
"Good for you. Now can we please move on Todd, before Farhat decides to share a piece of his private thoughts again." Casmir said with gritted teeth and I couldn't help but laugh. The two would get on well.
Farhat scowled at Casmir. "I can't decide between you and the red hair who is my least favorite American." He said as I led them into the training room.
"Am Canadian not American." Casmir corrected.
"Neither is Ny'ssa American, she is Mayan." I added and that shut him up for awhile unlike our time in the weapon's hold where he was going on and on about the weapons. I was quite surprised he knew almost every weapon there and as he recited out all their features, I watched as Casmir eyes and ears blinked and twitched as he calmly absorbed and processed all that Farhat was blurting out.
Staring at him made me want to know him better and truthfully to know if he really was on our side. He was like the wind, calm but with potential to go wild and become powerful and unpredictable. I wondered what he would come up with for Dr. Wells test. I could wait to see that mind in action.
My perusal of him hadn't gone unnoticed though cause he turned and fixed with a questioning look. I shrugged and smiled at him.
