I'm Watching You

Chapter 2

Huminga ako ng malalim at inayos ang aking office uniform nang marinig ko ang pagtunog ng elevator. I walked out of the lift and walk straight to my new boss' department, The sports and entertainment department.

All the workers are all busy with their business. People compiling research papers while biting the tip of the cup of coffee, manager swearing to his team members, some are typing on their computer and asking some information from their colleagues, and some are running to another cubicle to command the trainees. Everything in here is a mess.

I cleared my throat to catch their attention but no one heard me. I did it again louder than before and I finally got them. They all froze and stared at me. I smiled and introduce my self. "Goodmorning, everyone! I am Kriesha Dape, Ms. Francine's new Secretary. Hope we all could get along for a better environment! Let's all work har and fighting!" I enthusiastically raised my fist.

. . . The ring of telephone broke the silence and just like that everyone went back to what they were doing as if I did not introduce myself.

I sigh. Don't lose your temper, Kriesha.

A middle aged man approached me. " Ms. Dape?"

"Yes, I am."

"Ah tara, Parating na si Ms. Francine so..." We walk and half run straight to a desk near an office that has a name on its door, Director Francine Sebastian. "...This will be your desk. Since it's not your first time to be appointed as secretary, I hope you know how to use this line?"Pointing to the telephone.

"Yes, Sir!"

"You should never enter her office unless she calls you. NEVER!" He reminded to my face. " Even after she go home, NEVER! And kung pwede lang wag kang aalis bigla sa desk mo, anytime natawag siya to give memos and collect data. Nasa chart naman kung anong oras at hanggang kailan ka lang pwede magbreak, so be mindful of the time indicated. Her schedule is on the tablet so check it bago siya dumating. Okay?"

"Yes, Sir!"

"Oh, by the way! I am Manager Lee, nice to have you." He smiled and offer his hand for a handshake. I gladly accept it and smiled back at him " Francine Dape, Sir, and thank you."

"Sige, mauna na ako, ah. The chart." And he retreated to his cubicle.

I sat on the swivel chair and studied the chart. Nashookt naman ako ng makita ko oras ng break ko.

12:30pm -1:00pm Lunch Break

KINGHINAYOP! ANONG KLASENG LUNCH BREAK TO? KAYA BA NAKAKAILANG PALIT NA SIYA NG SECRETARY? JUSKO MAMATAY YATA AKO SA PINASOK KO. 

Most na nakalagay sa schedule niya is puro about sa work and meetings. Mabibilang sa kamay yung mga appointments niya with higher ups or like mga dealers. Unlike sa dati kong boss, puro may appointment sa hotel, kain dito kain doon, biyahe dito biyahe doon. Kung dati sumakit binti ko ka lalakad at takbo, dito sasakit naman pwet ko kauupo. Homaygosh!

Muli namang tumahimik ang lahat na siyang nakakuha ng pansin ko. Isang babae na napakaelegante at napakaganda ang naglalakad ngayon papunta sa direksyon ko. She has a brown curly hair cascading on ther left shoulder. She's wearing a red turtle neck blouse inside a blush pink nit cardigan, trouser and a pair of pumps. She stop in front of me.

"Are you the new Secretary?"

"Yes, I am Kriesha Dape. Good morning, Ms. Francine." And I bow my head.

"I hope that Manager Lee already gave you a briefing about the rules."

"Yes, Miss."

"Okay, come to my office."
