Kehlani's POV:

After I left the dinner table I ran straight up to my room and cried some more. My mom tried to apologize like a hundred times. I tried to ignore her but I just couldn't. I just got more mad and upset every time she tried to apologize to me.

After every one went to bed I was still up staring at my my ceiling. I wasn't sure what to do. But I kew I didn't wanna be some science experiment anymore.

It must have been 11:30 at night. I grabbed my black hiking backpack. I put clothes and an extra pair of shoes in it. I also took all the money I had in my room which added up to be $485. It wold have to do. I zipped up my black windbreaker and laced up my Convers.

I opened the cabinet to get the keys to the shed. I ran outside with my backpack on my back. I opened the shed to get my teal and white bike. I hopped on and I was off.

It was pouring rain outside. I was riding on the side of one of the main roads in my town. It was really weird riding on the road and no one was on it. My plan was to get to the next town over then go find some where to stay.

As I was almost to the next town a car started following me. It wold turn it's headlights off every few seconds. So I kew they were following me. They sped up so they were next to me. It was a black van and it had the letters SMR on it. It was the hospital. How did they find me?

I started peddling so fast. They were right behind me and I knew not to look back just to look forward. I saw a little patch of woods ahead and went through it. The van crashed into a tree as soon as they made the choice to follow me in there.

Then as I was riding my chain broke on my bike. I dropped it and ran. I don't think I ever ran that fast in my life. The woods finally ended and I found a neighborhood. I stopped for a Second to use my inhaler but I couldn't find it it must've fallen out of my bag!

I knew there was no going back so I just had to keep going. I kept running down the street screaming for help. I finally ran up to a door because I knew I couldn't run anymore. I banged on it as hard as I could and was screaming for someone to please help me.

A boy about my age opened up the door. As he looked at me I was about to pass out. Before I did I told him " My names Kehlani Please don't call the cops or an ambulance just let me in" then I dropped to my knees then fell onto my side.
