Bryce and I continue to converse as time goes on, she gets closer as time goes on too.

She doesn't ask anything major, like how I got here, why I'm  still here , family, and other things like that. She takes in more of her surrounding than anything.

What happens next, scares her. It scares me.

My head, starts to twitch violently from one side to the other. I hear laughter. It doesn't come from Bryce, but from me, or from the part of me who won't leave I should say. My mouth moves.

"What's the matter Tess? Not going to introduce me to your new little friend?" her cackle escapes my throat. It's high pitched and evil.

"Well, let's just see how you're going to explain this one, shall we?" she says through me. I turn to Bryce "Enjoy the show." she says making me tilt my head slightly to the right and smile wickedly. Her laugh emerges once more, resonates, and then is gone.

I fall to the floor and take big gasps of air. My breaths are shaky. I look up at Bryce.

She stares at me for a while, horror struck, and starts to back away from my cell.

"Bryce I-" I start, but she cuts me off.

"What the hell was that?! You said you wouldn't hurt me! What the hell was-" her yelling puts me on edge and I yell back.

"Shut up! Shut, up. Look at you! You're not hurt, how could I hurt you through this cell? If I wanted to hurt you...if she wanted to hurt you, she would have. I would have. But we didn't. I didn't tell you because I hardly know you! I knew you were just like everyone else. You don't care, and you won't give me a second chance because you've seen her. If you're not going to give me another chance, then get the hell out of my face. I have enough people like that in my life already." I say pushing myself up and glaring at her.

I continue to glare at her for a few seconds more before I turn away from her, walk back over to the rocky bench in my cell, sit, and put my head in my hands, and my elbows on my thighs.

There is silence for a while. The only things that can be heard are breathing, pacing footsteps from cells elsewhere, and the dripping of something from within the cave.

After a few minutes, I hear her mutter to herself. "A second chance? Okay, a second chance."

I lift my head out of my hands slightly, to glance at her for a moment, and put my head back in my palms.

A few moments go of awkward silence later, I hear this:

"Hi my name is Bryce." she says again.

I lift my head out of my hands again, this time staring at her.

"Yeah, I know that." I say with a confused look on my face. She stares and smiles at me as if waiting for a different answer.

I look back at her. I then push myself up and walk towards the edge of my cell, closer to her.

"My name is Tess" I say smirking. She just gave me a second chance.

"So Tess, have anything you would like to let me know about yourself?" she asks with a fake smile.

I look at her. She only cares about herself. Not about me, or about the ongoing battles in my head. The constant restless nights, the memories I relive every day of my life that turns each day into a haunting nightmare. They mean nothing to her...do they? I mean after all, she is one of the only people that has ever given me a second chance. Perhaps she can be trusted? And even if she can't be, her safety ensures one less "incident" to occur. I decide to tell her.
