"What was that all about?" Bryce asks when I reach her and take the seat across from her.

"His name is Raj- and he's a menace." I tell her. I hear the hatred in voice.

I proceed to tell her the story of Raj, and the night he called me broken. She listens contently as she takes spoonfuls of the "chicken noodle soup" provided for dinner for us tonight; she doesn't seem to be enjoying the food at all. I know it takes a while to get used to, I almost threw up the first time I tasted their "Beef Stroganoff".

"Sounds like a jerk, and I'm glad you kicked him in the head." she says with a nod as I finish the story.

I laugh.

She takes another sip of soup.

"So, how did he become a guard?" she asks, staring at me with her dark brown eyes.

I shrug.

"Beats me," I say. "One minute he's trying to give me nightmares, and possibly kill me, and the next thing I know he's walking around acting like he owns the place as the newest member of the guards here." I say

"The guy is a goddamn psychopath for Christ sake." I say shaking my head.

Bryce smiles; and then she starts to laugh.

I smile too, not sure why, or how she is able to make people smile for no reason, but I smile none the less. "What's so funny?" I ask now starting to laugh lightly.

She continues laughing.

"I- I know that this is inappropriate to ask..especially given the circumstances but- but," she keeps laughing in between every couple of words.

"Was he, ya know-" she laughs still "good?" she finishes still smiling and laughing.

"What?" I say smiling, laughing, and shaking my head with disapproval.

"Oh for the love of God, please don't make me say it again!" she says as her laughing becomes even more intense.

I'm smiling like crazy now. "Was he good?" I repeat, she nods; both of us laughing.

"At kissing?" I ask in disbelief, still laughing.

She nods.

"I mean... I was kinda distracted by the whole 'Is he gonna kill me?' question but um-no. GOD no, he was absolutely awful." I say starting to laugh even harder.

We keep laughing, and I suddenly realize that I can't remember the last time I felt this happy; let alone the last time I actually laughed like this. It feels nice.

Our table is pretty secluded from everyone else's, so we're able to talk ad be loud, and well- girly.

I ask her about Reggie.

"Soooooo, I saw you and Reggie making eyes at one another today, and you being just down right sickening and twirling your hair around your finger earlier- what was that all about?" I ask her, raising my eyebrows mockingly.

She looks back at me, and her cheeks are lighter shade of pink than usual.

"I don't know what you're talking about." she says childishly and trying to suppress a small smile. I start to wonder if Reggie likes her too...I mean, they both seem truly genuine, and they could work; then again it could cause problems giving the guard and prisoner situation. I decide to let fate play the cards on this one.

I take my first bite of soup for the night; it is indeed, disgusting.

"Wow, this is really bad." I say to Bryce. She nods in agreement.
