Chapter 3

~ Kayla's P.O.V ~

So I rolled up at school in the student parking lot and I stopped to admire my school even though I wasn't too fond of going to a nerd school at first but I can't lie my school was big and beautiful. I began to think of my favorite period which was lunch where we would sit in the designated lunch areas which was always outside in front of the massive school where long green picnic tables were engraved in the ground.

We had a choice to sit inside the lunchroom or outside; majority of the school eats outside because we love to enjoy the nice Miami weather. I got out of my thoughts and began to walk around the school (because the inside of the school is locked before 7:45) to the breakfast table which was also Kahlena's, Shay's and me's lunch table which was located in the front of the school directly in the middle by a waterfall. It was the most beautiful view and where we can see all the action take place.

I finally made it to the front of the school where my crew Kahlena, Shay, Isaiah, Josh, David and more of my friends sat and ate breakfast together. We didn't all eat lunch at the same table so breakfast was always lit. I began to walk towards the breakfast table and Kahlena sees me and shouts "Kaylaaaaaaaa!!!" I started walking faster and I shot her a wave and said "Heyyyyyy!" I kept walking and Isaiah turned around and ran over to me and gave me a big hug and a kiss on the cheek. Isaiah is one of my best guy friends and he has always been there for me. Isaiah and I walk over to the breakfast table and I took my usual seat across from Shay with Isaiah on my right side and Josh on my left.

Everybody: *chomps down on their food*

Me: Well I missed y'all too!

David: 😳😳😳 Kayla? Saying more than one word before 8 o' clock? saaaaay whaaa?!

Me: haha very funny David 😒

Joseph: Man Kayla don't act like we ain't seen you all summer.

Me: Maneeeee whatever it's different. I haven't seen you guys in a school setting all summer 😊

Josh: It's okay Kayla.

Me: Y'all suck. *lays head down and gets some shut eye like I do every morning*

*7:45 am bell rings signaling 1st period*

~ Narrator's P.O.V ~

Shay walks around the table and wakes up Kayla to let her know the bell rung. Kayla thanks Shay and Shay asked Kayla what her first period was and Kayla looked on her schedule that she received in the mail and noticed she had all her periods except first listed. Shay and Kayla began to compare their schedules. The late bell rung and Kayla sighed and told Shay that she would see her 3rd period in Biology.

~ Shay's P.O.V ~

I rushed down the many halls of my school heading to math. All 9th graders had to take accelerated math 1 ugh. I was late on my first day to my first period foolin' with Kayla but I don't care this won't be the last time.

I finally got to my class and my eyes widened. The classroom was packed and I turned and looked at my teacher Mrs. White who was known for being a pushover and a terrible teacher. She couldn't teach for nothing. I looked all around for a seat that was beside someone I actually could stand and I looked towards the back of the class and spotted Josh, Isaiah, and Joseph talking to three other tall boys. I walked towards the back on the front row and sat behind Nala and in front of Josh. Josh spoke and said hey to me.

I just blushed and said hey back to him. I was always shy when it came to somebody I liked and I had a crush on Josh and I only told Kayla.

I looked around and noticed there was an empty seat to my left and felt lonely. However, I decided to speak to Nala because she usually doesn't talk to anyone and I find the way she talks and how she talks funny. I needed a good laugh.

~ Kayla's P.O.V ~

I left Shay and began walking to the guidance office. I got to the office and I looked through the glass window and saw a bunch of people dressed up in the office. I wanted to be nosy so I walked in there like a boss and went to the jar where they have a bunch of mints siting for no reason. I pretended to dig through it when I noticed the conversations grew quiet. The principle Dr. Brown walked in and announced to all the people that she was ready for them in the conference room.

"Ughhhh!" I said to myself. No luck. I left the office and walked across the hall into the guidance office. I told the lady why I was there and she told me to sit and wait for Mrs. Key the lady who is in charge of schedules to get out of the meeting with the principle in the office.

Thirty minutes had gone by and I had got tired of waiting and I was getting sick of staring at the same objects in the same room. I got up and noticed people coming out of the conference room in the office. Three people walked out of the conference room and then out the office door and I acted natural. Then I looked closely and noticed that one man was really tall and bald. I thought to myself that he looked so familiar and it was bothering me. I couldn't make out where I knew this man from and it was bothering me. I then looked at who the tall bald guy was speaking too very quietly and it was a dark skin man with dark lips and a brown skin lady with dark lips. They all three looked so familiar....

I noticed myself staring but they were by the front entrance doors faced away from me. Then, I noticed many of the people leaving the conference room then out the office. I then saw Mrs. Key making her way into the guidance office. I decided to follow Mrs. Key and I heard the brown skin lady jokingly say "That's not funny Kenneth." I said "OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YEAHHH I'M SO STUPIDDD!" really loud but not really much people seemed to care about my outburst. I started convincing myself that I wasn't crazy for not recognizing Mindless Behavior's managers right away....I don't even remember Drake's DJ name but I can at least recognize his face, and I'm crazy about Drake lol.

To be honest I don't really keep up with celebrities unless it's something broadcasted and everyone's talking about it. "Kayla, Mrs. Key is in her office waiting for you," said the lady I spoke with earlier. My thoughts got interrupted and my eyes widened and I said "Okay," not really knowing what she said to me. I just walked into Mrs. Key's office and she already had my schedule done. She handed it to me and I looked over it and my first period was Mrs. White's accelerated math 1. "Oh boy," I sighed to myself. Mrs. Key noticed what I said and said "Kayla is there anything wrong mam?" I replied nonchalantly "Everything is fine, thanks for doing my schedule but one question...why is Mindless Behavior's management here?" Mrs. Key calmly told me to wait after lunch the whole school has a mandatory meeting in the lecture hall and that she can't reveal anymore information until then.

I thanked her once again and was on my way to my first period class until the bell rung indicating that it was time for second period.
