"Jade, pass me the orange juice." My older brother demands, holding out an outstretched hand towards me. I roll my eyes before sliding the open container of orange juice across the table, watching a little jump out of the jug and onto Aiden's brand new shirt.

"Oops?" I smile mischievously, knowing damn well I meant to for it to spill. Aiden looks up at me with a mix of anger and amusement in his eyes. I watch as he sticks his middle finger in the air and I can't help but laugh as my mom slaps it down. Sometimes it's hard for me to believe that he's almost graduated college.

"Aiden, manners!" My mother scolds him. He looks at me and rolls his eyes, mimicking my mom once her back is turned.

"Aiden, manners!" He mimics in a high pitched tone, making me almost spit out my orange juice.

"I may be old but I'm not deaf." My mother walks towards him and smacks the back of his head. He rolls his eyes once again, except this time I'm certain they'll get stuck back there.

"Shit, I'm gonna be late. Bye Mom!" I scurry away once I notice the minutes ticking away on the clock. I kiss her cheek lightly and wave at my idiotic brother before running outside to my black Sudan.

Coach Saunders is going to have my ass if I'm late to practice again. My idea of a perfect summer isn't being up at 7 am every morning only to be yelled at by the strictest soccer coach to run more laps. Only a couple of more months of soccer and I'm done. I'm done with the attitude of my coach, the aching feeling in my legs, and the dreadful feeling of waking up early. The only reason I'm sticking with soccer for another year is because it will look great on my applications for college, they love well rounded students. I would've quit earlier if it wasn't for that reason exactly, but I need to get into a good college to please my parents.

That is if I know which college I want to go to and what the hell I'm going to do with my life.

When I pull up to the school, I spot my bubbly best friend running up to my car. Before I can even step out, she already has me by the arm and is stringing me along with her towards the field.

"Woah, chill." I laugh.

"Nope, no chilling. Coach isn't here yet and if she sees you're late then she'll make us all run laps. Hurry up!" Camila's hands attach around both of my wrists as she strings me along beside her, forcing me to pick up my pace.

The scorching sun streams down on us, and I realize that it's far too beautiful of a day to be practicing for the soccer season. We should be making stupid decisions like going cliff jumping or kissing random boys instead of being forced to run miles after miles by our dreadful coach. It's practically 100 degrees outside so you would think it would be considered torture, right?

As Camila strings me along beside her, she slows down when she averts her gaze to the football players practicing on the turf. I roll my eyes as she parts her lips and looks at them in awe. She slows down to a complete stop to watch their flexing muscles and I can practically see the drool running down her chin.

"Camila, we have to hurry remember?" I try to snap her back into reality, but she's mesmerized by the sweat that gleams off of their arms.

"We may be stuck here, but at least we have the pleasure of watching Ryan Jenkins practice." I watch as she bites her lip and tucks her black hair behind her ear. I turn my head to meet the glorious sight of Ryan Jenkins, otherwise known as the "it" boy here in our small town of Lynwood, Massachusetts. Despite the harsh sun beaming down onto me, my eyes focus on his sweat drenched, brown locks after he's pulled his helmet off. He smiles his award winning, 'I can make any girl fall for me smile' at his coach, who pats him on the back and applauds him for the work he just did. His arm muscles ripple under his shoulder pads as his olive skin glistens in the sunlight.
