"I'm telling you, once you see this boy your whole 'no dating' attitude will change in a second," Camila shouts in my ear over the blasting rap music in Ollie's car.

"Okay." I simply say, not wanting to have this conversation again.

"After the band plays do you wanna go to this junior boy's house? He invited me to a small get together because his parents are out and he's in my photography class, and I lowkey think he's gay because what straight dude would invite me to a party." Ollie laughs.

"I don't have good experiences with the juniors," Cammy says.

"Get over that stupid thing that happened sophomore year. It was just a little blood." Ollie's mouth curves into a mocking smile, whereas I have no clue what they're talking about.

"Shut up." Cammy giggles from the backseat.

We pull into the parking lot of the coffee shop and steal the last parking spot. Apparently, this band is really popular because more and more people keep showing up with nowhere to park. I watch as people pull onto the lawn and hop out of their cars.

"I'm so excited." Camila grabs locks our arms and lets out a little yelp as we walk to the coffee shop.

The second we walk into the place and attempt to move past the massive amount of people in the small shop, I notice him. He's sitting on a stool by the corner of the room, tuning his guitar. I definitely know what all the hype about him was now.

His shaggy blonde hair falls onto his dark brown eyes, and he lets out a gorgeous smile as one of his bandmates make a joke, a smile that I wish I have myself. He pauses for a moment and taps his foot, glancing at all of the people in the room in anticipation. When he looks at me, his lips curve into a small smile and he continues to tune his guitar to perfection.

"Cute, right?" Camila says from beside me.

"Yeah."

"I introduced myself last time but I don't think he's that into me." Ollie sighs from beside me.

"I thought you liked black guys?" I laughed.

"Yeah, I do. But I mean I can add a little vanilla in there once in a while." He smiles. "He's not gay anyways."

"What's his name?" I question, turning my head to look at him again. He was now standing up, strumming strings on his guitar, his body lean with a little muscle. He looks around Ryan's height, maybe 6 feet tall.

"Uh, I think it was Elijah." Ollie responds. "I'm getting coffee, you guys want anything?"

"Black please." I thank him and he rolls his eyes at my choice of coffee.

Camila and I continue to chat, waiting for the band to begin. She tells me about the colleges she's applied to and how she's almost certain she'll get into Uconn. I don't doubt that she'll get into every place she's applied, she's one of the smartest people I know. I do try to change the subject though because talking about college just gets me stressed out.

Just as Camila starts to ask me about where I'm applying, the lead singer taps the microphone, gathering the attention of all the people in the room.

"Welcome everyone! Thank you so much for coming. We're all so grateful for this amazing opportunity and we really hope you like our new album. Make sure you buy a coffee, and of course have fun tonight!" The girl says, smiling at the audience and her bandmates. She has dark skin and eyes with cornrows covering her whole head. She's very pretty.

The audience claps in approval and she smiles before dimming the lights. Just as the cute boy starts to strum his guitar, a jingle of the bells on the door to the coffee shop sounds out. I turn around in curiosity to see who walked in at a bad time, and who I see surprises me.
