"OPEN THE F*CKING DOOR RILEY GOD DAMN" My dads voiced echoed threw the silent house waking me up.

I jumped up and ran over to unlock the door, as terrified as I was I figured I might as well get whatever he wanted over with.

"Where the hell is your mother? I swear to god if you force her to leave I'm kickin your ass out on the street" His alcohol scented breath hit my face. Damn. It was 10AM and he was either still drunk from last night or already drunk.

"Uhm what do you mean if I force her to leave? you're the one thats--" and he cut me off, screaming over my voice.

"Ha, ya think its my fault she'd leave? You're the one with the attitude 24/7! Hell I'd leave if I could, you're a worthless daughter"

I just starred him in the eyes because I knew no matter what I said he would always try to make me the bad guy. Then the front door started to open. Shit. It was matt... my dad was usually gone by now.

My dad turned and glarred at Matt for a few seconds before storming out the front door into his truck and driving off.

"I am so sorry you had hear that...."

"And I'm so sorry you have such a shit dad"

Matt always tried to make me feel better and I loved him for that.

"So you ready for this party tonght?" I said trying to change the subject away from my dad.

"Hell yeah I am.... whadya wanna do today... weve got until like 9 before people start showing up"

"Hmm I have no idea"

"How about Jeremy and Kylie come over and go swimming ?"

Kylie was my best friend, besides Matt, and Jeremy was Matts bestfriend, besides me. They had been dating for about a year now, and always tring to force us to date. And trust me I was right there with them.

"Eh, yeah sure Ill text them" I said. I didn't want to because Matt would see the bruise but I didn't want to be suspicious about it.

 ****

We had gone back to Matts house and met up with Jeremy and Kylie to go swimming. After we all changed into our bathing suits we went out back to the pool.

"Oh shit Riley what happened to your back?" Jeremy asked with concern in his voice.

"Uh I tripped last night and fell onto the coffee table" I said and Jeremy and Kylie believed it and started talking about how much of a clutz I was but then I looked at Matt. The look he was giving me ran chills throughout my body. He knew. He knew exactly what that bruise was from. One he could see past my lies and two well, I told him a completly different story about the bruise...
