The man had been homeless for years. 5? 10? 15? It didn't matter. Being a veteran was hard but he wasn't alone. Some people gave him money when they passed him on the street, he tried his best to ignore those who were rude, and he would often take coins out of the fountain that is in the middle of the city shopping square.
-------------P.O.V Change-------
My father had told me a tale when I was about eight years old, we had been walking though the city square when he pointed to a couple in front of a fountain, they had smiled at each other and threw their coins into the water.
"People will make wishes and then throw a coin into that fountain. What they don't know is that unless the coin is pulled back out of the water, their wish will never come true." He reached into the water and pulled three coins out. He had always done it anytime he was out shopping. That was the day I finally understood why. After that I did the same as he did. Now I continue to do so others can lead a happier life then I have too.

Today had been a pretty rough day for me, a nice lady had bought me lunch, which was very tasty. But maybe two hours later a group of men came up to me, they had stated that sitting on the streets and begging for money was wrong and that I should pay for all of the money I had "taken". They then proceeded to drag me to the alleyway and beat me damn near close to death. I let it happen, it wasn't the first and I figure it wouldn't be the last time it happened.
After getting myself cleaned up, I stopped and picked up four coins from the fountain. A Penny, a Nickel, a Dime, and a Quarter. I hopped these would help those having a bad day like me.

Hello everyone! I thought I would write a little story based on a writing prompt I found on Pinterest last night. I was gonna keep it all in one chapter but I kinda changed my mind. I'll have a different chapter for each Coin. I hope y'all enjoy, i'm having fun with this so far.
