AN: Haven't updated this in ages really sorry. I kinda lost where I was going with this but I'm back.

Also; this takes place a while after Selina and Bruce fight in the hospital and Bruce has truly embraced his party persona.

When Lee had come home to find a certain green eyes cat leisurely draped across her leather sofa. She half expected a gun to be pointed in her direction and she had half expected to find Jim with her. Neither were true, and she was more confused than ever.

"Gotta say doc I thought you'd be smarter than to leave your window unlocked" Setting down her bag Lee smiled hesitantly, Selina wasn't here on business she was too relaxed for this to be anything but a personal visit.

"What no gun this time?" Selina shrugs nonchalantly a smile tugging on her chapped lips.

"No need, this isn't business" The heavy thud of boots hitting the floor as Selina swing her legs down and stands up each step calculated almost robotic- her cautiousness hidden by snarky and smirks. "I need a place to crash, my place is flooded, and my other option went out the window" Bruce, she had heard from Alfred of their relationship on how serious it was becoming. "It won't be for long and you won't even know I'm here" Lee hated to admit it but she had a soft spot for the girl and didn't have to think twice about letting her stay the night.

"Of course, the guest bedroom is down the hall I'll just grab you a blanket" Selina waved her off.

"No need, I didn't use one on the streets the bed is a luxury in itself" Lee wanted to interject, she was with Barbra and Tabitha, how was a thrift store bed a luxury? Selina caught on quickly, the confused looking causing her to smirk. "It's complicated" Complicated didn't even begin to cover it.

Selina couldn't sleep, she had been watching the shadows of raindrops float down her wall in idyllic patterns for over an hour; she traced them in mid-air with her fingertips counting each line individually. She gave up after twelve. Moonlight pooled by her feet illuminating the bare room. Silence engulfed her thoughts taking over her body. It made her restless, made her unable to settle. The silence was Selina's only enemy.

As much as she hated herself she wished Bruce was here, he's not a loud sleeper in fact sometimes she would have to check he was still breathing but when the world gets silent and humanity seems to have given up. He's right there kissing her worries away whispering French words into her ear or humming silly tunes until she tells him to shut up. If she can't sleep he's up too, making coffee or just holding her hand while she admits the real reason sleep has fled her body, be it Ivy or her mother or something she had seen that day. He would lie with her when the nightmares got to really hold her tight ignoring her tears rubbing soothing circles on her hip until she fell asleep. Even if he wasn't doing anything he was there; a sigh as he dreamt a hand linked in hers or an arm draped over her annoyingly. She needed Bruce to sleep needed the comfort of knowing if it was a bad night he was going to be there and without that, she couldn't find it in herself to let go of that anxiety.

She leaves the guest room tiptoeing silently across the plush carpeted floor, the fibres tickling her bare toes, slowly making her way into the kitchen stopping dead when she notices the light is on and freezing entirely when she sees Lee; hair loose. Her, aura completely carefree and calm. That's when she smells it, she's cooking, it's three in the morning and Doctor Lee Tompkins is cooking.

"What the hell are you doing?" lee turns to face Selina's eyes narrowed as she adjusts to the darkness in the corridor. "I thought I could smell burning" Selina lies swiftly, and Lee just smiles pointing happily at the plate of bacon under the fan with her spatula.
