A few days before they fly off to California for the science seminar, everything just starts to overwhelm Scott. It's all just too much for him. He feels homesick and he misses his mom and his friends, and of course, Isaac. He never got to say goodbye, and that thought kills him. Scott paces up and down the living room, hands running through his hair stressfully and Scott has his eyes closed right as he tries to take deep breaths. He can't get the images of Liam, Allison, Isaac and his mom out of his mind. Scott continues to cry and whimper quietly, tears rolling down his cheeks. He thought he could do this. He really did. However, Scott is realizing that this is not his world and he does not belong here. Stiles should never have saved him from that ice and just left him to be trapped forever, basically dead to the world.
"Hey Scott, I got a DVD for us to watch tonight. It's called Get Out. It came out last year, I think, and it's a really good horror sort of movie, filled with loads of suspense. I also ordered pizza. I ordered pepperoni, your favorite." Stiles calls out cheerfully as Scott hears the front door of the apartment open and close. Scott doesn't answer, continuing to cry quietly.
"Scott?" Stiles asks as he walks through the hallway, waving the DVD in the air as he looks around for Scott. Stiles starts to frown, feeling something is wrong. His breathing hitches slightly when he walks into the living room to see Scott walking back and forth, trying to pull out his hair, tears falling down his face and generally looks very distressed. Stiles places the DVD on one of the cabinets and then quickly walks over to Scott.
"Scott, Scotty, are you okay? Talk to me, I want to help you. What's wrong?" Stiles asks, trying to sound soothing and gentle, but he doesn't know how much that carries across. As he reaches a hand out to touch Scott's shoulder, Scott flinches away and finally looks over at Stiles with teary, angry eyes, letting his hands drop down to his sides. Stiles takes a small step back, surprised at Scott's sudden anger.
"What's wrong? What's wrong? What isn't wrong, Stiles?!" Scott yells at Stiles, his voice shaking with anger, fear and heartbreak.
"I-I don't know, Scott, that's a pretty vague statement. I just... tell me what's bothering you. I want to help you! So let me help you. Please." Stiles stammers a little bit, his heartbeat starting to rise. Everything had been going so well; is it really going to all fall apart now?
"I don't belong here, Stiles! This is not my world or my time! I should be dead, or I should be really old and almost dead!" Scott screams at Stiles, burning hot tears pouring down his almost caramel colored skin. Stiles hates to see Scott this hurt.
"Look, Scott, I know it has been hard for you, and I know that it'll be hard for you for a very long time, maybe forever, but I'm here to help you get through it, remember? I know this is all hard to deal with, but not impossible. You survived against all odds. You can't throw that away." Stiles tries to help calm Scott down and takes a step towards him, but Scott takes another step back.
"What do you know, Stiles? How the hell am I supposed to do this? You don't know what I'm going through! You weren't trapped in ice for 70 years!" Scott yells at Stiles, obviously scared, upset and angry at this whole thing, but is lashing out at Stiles. The 29-year-old scientist can't help but feel a little hurt at Scott's accusation.
"No... Maybe I don't know what you're going through, but I can try. You just need to let me try. I just want to help you, Scott. I hate seeing you upset or hurt like this. Okay, sure, of course I would have no idea what it would feel like to be frozen for 70 years, and I really wouldn't want to find out. But, what I do know is that you don't have to do this alone. You've got me. I won't leave you, Scott. You don't have to carry the weight of all of this by yourself." Stiles replies in a quiet, calm and reassuring voice. Scott doesn't listen.
