Fluorescent lighting beating down
on your off-white hospital bed
strapped down by fears of
what ifs.
As Panic! at the Disco would say,

go
far away
beyond this place of
pain and anxiety.
Let me be as free as a bird
now
what if my wings are broken?
What if I can't learn to fly?
What then?
Would you still let me go?
Would you still relieve the burden
beating on me like the fluorescent light
