Everone had the drug in their system, and they didn't know any way to get it out.

Everyone on campus had been sent to their dormitories and told to stay put there, worried that there may be something else coming. Sealed water and food had been delivered to our dorms, ensuring that nothing had been contaminated.

"So, who'd you think the traitor is?" Paul came up and sat next to me on my bed.

I shrugged, "I'm tempted to say Wade, from my water class, but I'm guessing I'm a bit biased at the moment,"

"What do you mean? Did he beat you up?"

I almost kicked myself. I didn't want to spread any rumours, and I'd just blurted it out to Paul, of all people.

"Don't worry, I won't tell anyone." Paul said, "no-one would listen anyway, I'm too nerdy to be taken seriously."

I felt really bad when he said this. I knew that in my main class, I was one of the more popular kids. Paul most definitely wasn't, but he never really acted like he cared. He seemed like he just enjoyed his books and didn't need many friends.

I knew that a couple of times, I had made fun of him in front of the whole class, just to make myself liked more, I didn't realise that I actually hurt him.

"Thanks." was all I said, feeling embarrassed that I had treated him badly.

We sat there in awkward silence for a moment, before i decided to break the ice.

"How's it going with you and Ash?" I said. Paul looked surprised that I'd asked, but smiled when he thought about it.

"It's going great." he said happily. "She is the nicest person ever, and she always sees the best in me. Usually no-one likes me, so it is a really nice feeling to have someone who loves me for who I am."

I smiled, "She is a really good person. We were going to the same school when we both got our powers, and we were on the street together for months. She's the best friend I've ever had."

"But you never fancied her?"

"No, it wasn't that kind of relationship." I said, going pink. "Anyway, this is about your relationship, not the one that everyone seems to think I have with Ash."

Paul looked confused, "What do you mean?"

I sighed, "Everyone seemed to think that we should be dating before you two became an item, but it was never that kind of relationship. I liked her as a friend, not as a girlfriend."

Paul shrugged, "The two of you seem to get along really well..." he said.

"What are you trying to say?"

"That maybe... you and Ash still... have feelings..."

"No, I don't." I said, outraged. "And I feel offended for Ash, you should trust her more. She is completely loyal to you, and I know for a fact that she's turned down a guy that all the girls like who hit on her, because she loves you." I turned away, discusted. "Innocent 'till proven guilty, remember? Don't accuse someone of doing something bad before you have any evidence to prove it."

"But... she's so nice to you." Paul said.

"That's because we're friends!" I shouted, making the room go quiet. Everyone in there stared at us, I picked up my crutches and lipmed of to the bathroom to get some privacy.

I couldn't believe that Paul had actually accused Ash of cheating on him with me. Anyone who looked at us could see that there was nothing going on between us, we were just friends.
