During lunch time, that blonde girl named Ren and I went to the rooftop to eat our lunch. She was nice!
"Are you enjoying your first day, Mitsue-kun?"
"Yup."
"How about you and your seatmate, are you two getting along?"
"Actually... What's the deal with her? She's giving me the creeps with the silent treatment!"
"You don't like her, do you?"
'What should I answer? Do I dislike her? I'm not actually sure.' I thought to myself before answering.
"Well, a little? I just want a friend to talk to during class."
"Yeah, I get that too! I don't know why but ever since Nozomi-chan transferred, everybody started acting weird."
"W-what do you mean?" I was really shocked to hear something like that.
Ren took a deep breath. My heart started racing again. 'Why? Is it something really serious? I mean, I didn't see the class acting weird – or maybe I just didn't know who they were before and even right now.'
'So what's the reason of everything?!' I became impatient in my head but waited for Ren to tell the tale.
Ren took another deep breath and looked at me.
"She transferred here last March and she introduced herself as Himura Nozomi and a descendant of a vampire clan. Everybody laughed at her then..." She paused, maybe because of my reaction.
I was confused.
'I mean, if you'd hear someone blab about being linked to vampires, anyone would laugh.'"Then suddenly, all of us felt something pushing us down. We weren't able to breathe properly. When I looked at her, her eyes turned glowing red. But I don't know if the others saw it.. those deadly looking eyes. The next day, I asked them if they had any idea what happened that day but they said nothing. Like they'd been brain washed." She stopped.
"Is it... I..." I mumbled. I didn't know how to respond after hearing such story.
Lunch break was over before we knew it. Ren went ahead of me because I wanted to compose myself first.
I breathe in... And out.. It took me about 5 minutes to get myself together again.
*Tch!*
I heard a snap just behind the entrance of the rooftop.
Holding the door knob, a heavy gush of wind pushed me away bringing me to my feet. When it ended, I slowly stood up and I opened the door. I was scared but at the same time I was curious to know what's behind it.
I saw Nozomi sitting in the corner, her head on her arm. Wait!! She was biting herself!
"Stop that!" I demanded.
"You!" she twitched away.
Is she a one-word person? Never mind! Her eyes were... Glowing red like how Ren described! Is she for real?
She stepped towards me. I stepped back – afraid of her, to be honest. Red fluid dripping from her arm. It was definitely BLOOD.
"Are you really a v-vampire?" I asked courageously. She stopped.
"Are you scared?" What a pretty voice! Though it's emotionless, the depth of her voice lingered down my spine.
"I'm not!" I lied.
I was really shaking with fear. I looked at her. She sat down facing downwards leaning her back against the wall.
"Just leave me alone." She said.
I had no option. I did as she asked. I didn't turn around. But still, she didn't answer me question.
And, I didn't see her all day afterwards.
